  • Caught this one slipping out the edge of a cutover by himself. Had seen him 2 weeks Prior during muzzleloader season and he was out of range. Hoped he would stick around the area being there are a lot of does with the rut coming in. He came in to the edge of a wheat field off of a cutover right at dark by himself and the rest is history.

killed oct 3 2013,with a bowtech compound bow, i had multiple pictures of this buck for two weeks all times of day and night. 3 days before i harvested the buck he came into the area i was hunting and didnt present me with a shot he stayed about 60-70 yards out and i didnt wan to chance a bad shot or spook the buck out of the area. About 540 pm oct 3, 3 does come in to the area and and i heard the brush and leaves still rattling where the does came from and out stepped a tall rack 10 point that i had no pictures of or had ever seen before but i knew the deer i had seen was still in the area. about 5 minutes later i heard the leaves crunching and the brush was so thick i could only see the legs of a deer coming in my direction, as it continued towards me i could see the body of the deer was big but i still couldnt see any horns, all of a sudden the deer picked his head up and i saw the horns i knew it was him. he proceeded towards me and gave me a quarting away shot at about 30 the yards. i made the shot and immediatly knew i had put i good shot on the deer. i saw him run about 40 yards and just out of my sight i heard him crash. i waited about 20 mins and got out of my stand and walked the direction of the deer and sure enough there he was. my heart rate2 finally slowed and i knew i had bagged the buck of a lifetime
