I've have been blessed and humbled this season to say the least! Started the season hunting with my five year old and long time friend and hunting partner. Opening day of youth season my five old shot his first Tom turkey! Very proud of it, him and I both. Then the first Monday of regular season my buddy and I double up. And not just any double. We call it the triple double! Short on time from having two boys and coaching baseball I made a last minute decision the following Monday to go hunt in the evening. Boy the surprise of this hunt would bring! A hunt and bird that probably won't be topped by me! Very blessed and humbled this season. And all these birds were taken in Eastern North Carolina!
I was rewarded with a great Tom, after a season of highs and lows! With much luck and patience I shot a Tom that scores104.98 on the NWTF scoring system. I have to thank Dereck and John for a great season and encouragement! Thanks more than I can say! I spent 45 minutes sneaking and setting up on this bird. Another 20 waiting and calling to him. Very rewarding hunt and year!
