  • Piedmont Bass Classics 2018 Tournament Updates!!

Happy New Year everyone and I hope to see you back fishing with us again in 2018! As in the past, we have kept our entry fees down and our overall paybacks, percentagewise, better than any other trails trying to compete in the area we fish! Our events are affordable and highly lucrative for the anglers. We have had, by far, the best attendance of any local trail in the area. We averaged 83 boats in our 2017 $10,000 Spring Trail qualifiers. Our closest competitor in our area averaged about 53 boats and the other averaged about 32 boats in their qualifiers. What that means for our anglers is: more chances to win! Our sponsors furnish us with approximately $15,000 in bonus money for Championship Payback & Door Prizes!!

We will keep doing what we are doing and will try and keep Piedmont Bass Classics Tournament Trails the best around!!

Don't forget to go to the Bass & Saltwater Fishing Expo at the State Fairgrounds coming up Jan. 12th. Please support all our PBC sponsors that will be at the show and thank them for supporting our trail !!! Please !!! I hate that I will not be there this year. I can't remember missing one since they began! I have knee surgery scheduled for Jan. 4th and will have a few weeks of fun, fun physical therapy. 'Gittin' Old' !!

Hopefully I'll be ready for our 1st event Feb. 24th at Harris.

Below are the website links for the PBC Spring Lineup of Events!! Just click on to the link for all the info. Mail your entries today for the best starting spots. Call me if you need more entry info.

a great Bass Championship should have: Tension, Nervousness, Anxiety, Hopefulness, Happiness, Sadness,
Great Weather, Rain, Lightning, Thunder, Food and Mud!!! What a great day with a great turnout, with 82 of
the 85 qualified teams attending!!! A great end to the best Piedmont Bass Classics Spring Trail we have ever
had. Our sponsors are the BEST!!! and there is no way I can thank them enough for their support thru cash and
prize donations the give us! I also want to thank Mark Nelson of Triangle Trolling Motors for furnishing the
pizza & drinks after this event!!

The weather was nice for Saturday with air temps around 70 degrees in the am on up to 87 in the pm. We did
have a little shower around noon but the 'storm' hit at 3pm just in time for the weighin. Let me tell you, it was
rough!! All we could do is batten down the hatches and keep weighing fish!  Water temps averaged about 79
degrees. Winds were nonexistent in the am up to about 7 mph in the afternoon. There were a lot of bass
weighed in but most were small. We did have 5 bass over 5 pounds which is a good sign that Kerr is getting well.

The team of Kevin Woodall and Jerry Marshburn won the top honors in the Championship, weighing in 5 bass
at 19.78 lbs. and also won the 2nd Place Big Fish Award (5.53 lbs.) for a total of $10,492 in cash & prizes. The
team said most of their bass were caught off channel points using rigs with plastics.
    Marshburn on left-Woodall on right.

Jaime Fajardo & Josh Hooks won the Trail Points Championship & won $1,000 in cash & Prizes for their
efforts. They also won 11th Place in the event bringing the total winnings to $1,250
    Hooks on left-Fajardo on right.

Billy Bledsoe and Brian McDonald came in 2nd place with 5 fish weighing 16.88 lbs. & also won 1st Place TWT
to pocket a total of $3,440. 3rd place team, Jonathan Jones & Bryson Peed, had their best tournament this
year and won $850 with 15.86 lbs. plus they took the 2nd Place TWT and 1st Place Big Fish (6.01 lbs.) to bring
their total winning to $2,883. Erik Ross & Les Walters had their best finish of the year taking 4th Place with
15.26 lbs pocketing $655 for the day!

260 fish were weighed in for a total of 622 pounds for an average of 2.39 lbs. each. Most of the larger fish were
caught on Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, WLS shaky heads, Jig combos, Spinnerbaits and Crankbaits in 10-12' of
water off main point dropoffs. The bass are in Kerr, but the bite can be strange at times.

I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that supported this trail. The Cashion

PIEDMONT BASS CLASSICS $10,000 SPRING TEAM BASS TRAIL QUALIFIER #5 RESULTS
Saturday May 13, 2017 ~ Falls Lake ~ Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp

The rain hit at checkin then moved out at blastoff for the Piedmont Bass Classics $10,000 Spring Team Bass Trail
Qualifier #5 at Falls Lake!  74 teams enjoyed the 55 degrees in the am and the 74 in the pm. Water temps averaged
about 70 degrees. Winds for the day were just light & variable. Falls Lake is still showing that it's one of the best
fisheries for bass in North Carolina. Some bass are still on the bed and some are now off and hungry!! The water
level was right at 255', down quite a bit from a week ago!

Jaime Fajardo and John Yager (subbing for Josh Hooks) won the event weighing in 5 bass with an impressive
27.24 lbs. and also won the Tournament Within a Tournament (TWT) for a total of $2,780 in winnings.  Fajardo will
also collect an additional $3,000 pending approval from the Skeeter Boats 'Real Money' Contingency Program
which will bring their winnings to $5,780 !!!

Close to winning, Jeremy Martin & Jim Nichols wrapped up 2nd place with 5 fish weighing 26.70 lbs. and also took
2nd Place TWT to pocket $1,430. 3rd place team, Thanos Tsoumbos & Manley Jones (subbing for Mike
Stephenson) , won $575 with 25.32 lbs. Big Fish for the day was caught by the team of Geno McCree & Rodney
Hilber (7.36 lbs.) giving them a total of $1,008!! 2nd Place Big Fish was landed by the team of Rick Sossaman &
Kyle Richardt (7.24 lbs.) paying them $630!!! The prize money got spread around pretty good today again!

293 fish were weighed in for a total of 1,020 pounds for an average of 3.48 lbs. each. Most of the fish were caught
flipping creature baits, casting spinnerbaits, WLS shaky heads, buzzbaits, chatterbaits and crankbaits in anywhere
from 1 to 10 feet of water. Some were caught on Carolina rigs as well. Numerous bass in the 6 to 7 lb. range were
    brought to the scales.
