After 2 years and hundreds of trail cam pics he finally makes a mistake.
This buck was the third buck to trot past me chasing the same doe! It would appear that the rut is getting started.
This is my heaviest gobbler yet. He went 21 lbs with a 10 inch beard and 1 1/4 spurs. A single hen decoy and persuasion from a mouth call was more than he could stand!!
This main frame 8 was a longtime friend. I have had pics of him since he was 1 1/2. This was only the second daylight sighting since he was 2.Not the highest scoring deer I have ever taken but definitely the most personal. We had a lot of history and he finally made a mistake. He beat the ODDS for years.
This 10 point was shot on November 24 at 5 pm.It was a very windy day and because of that I decided to carry a rifle instead of my bow. That turned out to be a good decision as the buck showed up at 90 yards following a doe.I had to practically yell at him to get him to stop because of a noisy wind gust.He fell on the spot and this deer took my last buck tag as I had already killed a 120' non typical in October.Im not complaining however and feel very blessed to have had such a great season. Time to fill the freezer now.
