A customer killed this hog 2/6/12 225 lbs Boar
On Oct 13 we spent most of the day working on stands. At around 430 I had enough, So i decided to go sit in a box stand over looking a small switch grass field. We had put some corn out a few days earlier and had some activity there. Around 6:20 I had 2 does come into the corn pile just eatin'away. While watching the does mosey on off I heard the sound of 2 bucks locking antlers behind me, I grabbed my rattle bag and grunt call and made a 5 second burst with the bag followed by a few short grunts. All of a sudden 2 bucks came running threw the cut over behind me. I could only see the tops of the antlers on one of them, Then this one stepped out broadside with only his neck and and one side of his antlers showing. Not sure on his size yet, I raised my Knight disc muzzle loader with a Bushnell scope up to take a better look. With him now in my cross hair he made a turn to head back into the thicket, At that point i knew he was a shooter! I squeezed the trigger on a quartering away shot aiming for his opposite shoulder. Now all i could do is hope the Thompson center 250 grain bullet backed by 100 grains of Pyrodex pellets will hit its mark. After the smoke cleared I saw no dead deer, sitting there listening for any kind of sound about 2 minutes later I heard what I thought to be his last kick, Got a good location on the sound. So about 10 mins later i got down and went to were i shot at him 'no blood, couldn't have missed it was only 70 yds' I said, my gun has been dead on this year. With a little more lookin' found him 25 yds away from were I shot. My largest muzzle loader buck to date. 18 1/2' 8 pt 180# this was an awesome hunt!
