Ethan Clinebelle, 8 year old from Wendell, NC shot his first buck in Wake County on November 15th, 2014. Ethan has scouted out the farm, and checked his trail camera regularly, and decided to hunt this week hard. His dad was able to video tape the hunt sitting next to him in the stand. The rut was in full force, and the buck was fighting with another buck as they separated, and Ethan was able to settle his nerves, and take a good shot with his H&R .243 youth model single shot just before the other buck came back for more. The buck ran 65 yards in the woods, and Ethan was so excited to track and find this huge buck. Ethan has enjoyed cooking his venison and sharing it with family at Thanksgiving, and can't wait to get his buck aka 'Swamp Donkey' from the taxidermist. Ethan is determined to harvest the other much larger 9 pointer before the end of the season.
My son Ethan Clinebelle took a very nice bird in Edgecombe Co. this past Saturday. It was a very windy day, and almost forced us to return to the cabin, but we saw birds standing 10 feet in front of where we had set up our blind that morning, where we did not see anything. My son and I had to sneak through the woods and get into position. This time the wind helped us out, and we got set up just on the edge of the field. The birds came out 1 hour later, and my son took a deep breath, and concentrated on one out of 15 birds. He shot him at 15 yards, and we rushed the field. It was the most awesome experience I had ever had hunting, and I did not shoot anything. He did all the work.
20 lbs., 10 inch beardm, 1 ' spurs. harvested with single shot youth .410 guage.
