I had this guy on trailcam in the day light one time...on Thanksgiving morning, when I just happened to be out of town. He finally came out on Dec 1 at 430 pm when I had 15 does in the corn pile and I missed him from 100 yds. I was SICK! I dialed my rifle back in, just praying for another shot. On Dec 13 my corn pile was low and I couldn't find corn anywhere, so as a last resort to attract something in I put out a bottle of C'mere Deer and a whole bottle of Tinks. Shot him that afternoon at 4 pm chasing a doe. I haven't had him aged but I think he was on his way down hill. I thought he would push 130 from the trailcam pics, but I scored him at 120. Main frame 10 with a sticker on his right brow.

Ive got some family and friends in Bladen County. A picture of this deer was sent to me by my cousin before it was up on NCHUNTANDFISH. What I was told (may or may not be true), was that the deer was killed on a big money hunting club. The club on which it was killed borders a club owned and payed for by Wendell Murphy...so I can only imagine how many food plots and millions of pounds of high nutrition feed are being made available to those deer. If this story is true, I think it is highly unlikely that the deer was in a fence, due to the fact that word travels quick in Bladen and of all the things Ive heard about the Murphy farm, a high fence is not one of them. I also know one of the guys that checks the trail cameras out there and even seen some of the pics a few years back...he's never mentioned a fence, and he's the type that would if there was one. However, with the money that they have, nothing would really surprise me.

I haven't really thought about it, and I'm not a subscriber...yet. Think it's worth it? How do they decide the winners?...by the size or story or what?

Preciate it viper...I spent alot of time hunting this guy...I'm just glad it finally paid off.

I preciate it. I dont know if you will regret it or not...it will definately be comfortable. But I dont know how easy it is to set up and climb. Those are the only things that could be any issue. How much are you selling the Bigshot for?

I couldn't find anyone who could accurately age him before I took him to get mounted. I had estimates ranging from 3.5 to 6.5...my guess is somewhere in the middle. My buddy's scale wasnt working right, but I'd say he weighed 175-185. The buck in my profile pic was aged at 3.5 and weighed 210...but he was killed on the edge of a bean field before the rut. The closest field of any type, to where I killed this guy is probably 20 miles away. I just think he was on the older side because he was pretty gray, his back was sagging pretty low, had a huge crown, had a really long snout, and the biggest ears I've ever seen. Who knows...either way I wasn't gonna let him walk to find out next year, the property isn't large enough to manage that strictly...he was just as likely to get hit by a car if I let him walk. And no, I wasn't using my Millenium unfortunately...I was sitting in the second most comfortable stand ever made...Bigshot Buckshot.

I've got one of the lock-ons. It is by far the most comfortable stand I have ever sat it. If you're looking for comfort it is well worth the money...I got mine at the Classic last year and they gave it to me 200 (instead of 240)for buying it at the show...and I didnt have to pay for shipping. There are two downsides for me. 1. The base is extremely unstable unless you ratchet it to the tree...so its not as easy as just setting it in the bracket. 2. The seat is rather deep and makes it difficult to stand up to shoot (for bow hunters) without being seen. But if you got a shot that you can make while sitting...it's no big deal.
