Do any of you guys use deer feeders? If so what kind do you like best an which have you had issues with? Looking to buy one an theres so many out there wondering which have been field tested by you guys?

    February 08, 2011 at 3:06pm

So found a bag of deer feed I had bought an forgot about, figured since season gone I'd see how they like it before this coming up season. It maybe the only feed I've ever used that caused grey foxes to come in over 100 times in a weekend. Even in the daylight 2 just sit there eating it. It's record rack feed supplement wildberry flavor $10 a bag at I think I got it at tractor supply. Here's a few pics of the foxes an one up close coyote shot.

    January 22, 2011 at 9:14am

    What you guys think? Coyote?

    January 14, 2011 at 12:27pm

Just wondering what an if you guys use in the post season for minerals for the deer. I have had the best luck with deer using Lucky Buck an Trophy Rocks. Just last week went to where had put a Trophy Rock at in June, they had dug the snow off just the Trophy Rock an it's now a Trophy Peeble. My Friend has had great results from deer using Lucky Buck , Mine seem to like the Trophy Rocks better... Heres a pic in summer of the prrof of the bucks using the Trophy Rock

A comment titled: corn in response to a report titled: Bears being a problem!!

Yea I try and spread the corn real thin out over the ground and they are usually only appearing on cams once a week twice at most! So its not an everyday thing having them there and Ive only seen one small one while hunting and it checked the corn and wandered off after smacking my camera.. Guess he was relaying a message that he was hungry.. And gobblingtom yea not far from greensboro about 30 min North. And there have been even more spotted few miles back behind our property and about 10 miles east of it on another rd. So they becoming plentiful and it'd be nice if NC let me use the bear tag I pay for anyways lol!

Well that's what surprised me the most, as u can see there's a lot of corn there that's because I was just there the evening before putting it out, an the one cuddeback pic that looks down hill kinda , I drove four wheeler all the way to that spot because that's first week I baited an hung cam there.. Just surprising with my scent there he seems so comfortable and relaxed ..

That's cool , thanks Viper learn something new everyday, I'd like to see the population grow enough we could have a season... What was cool is when the bear would leave with in 20 mins the does would bring their fawns in to feed , like they were just taking turns lol..

As I said someone told me about the pics I didnt physically see em, my thought was mention it and the first person to raise hell and try to defend pics from other states not taken by you're own camera is probably the guilty party.... But yall do what you please, this is sopose to be NC sportsman right ???? Not nevada, colorado, montana, VA..... They have their own damn websites and if I wanna see pics from there I'll look there...
But if thats the way this website is going fine so be it , I come here to see pics and people shooting deer here in NORTH CAROLINA not everywhere in the country...

And I see that only one person even had a comment on being happy for someone who shoots any size deer not just a trophy buck!!! And once again if that's the way ppl are gonna be it's not worth it for me to be here or have any place here at all... To me all deer are respectable when harvested by anyone.... if you want QDMA then buy a ranch some where in a state that's its possible because if you think here in NC on you're pathetic 300 acres that you're neighbor wont shoot that deer you just let walk you're an idiot...

I'm done no more to say it's not even worth saying this !!!!

Let me say this and I'm done and if this offends you great ! But a friend who is also on this site brought it up this morning that some pics that have been posted on here recently were'nt even the persons pics he was claiming as his.. And I believe they may of been entered in the trail cam contest as well, but they were also found on and beside the pics said Utah, if you cant post you're own shit don't post anything ....Don't copy and paste other ppl's pics, That's cheating and lieing! That's just the type of ppl that GT is kind of refering to. Not ppl with an opinion!

A comment titled: ... in response to a report titled: PLEASE Correct me IF I'm wrong!!!

All good points! That kind of in the same nature goes back a few weeks to the coversations we all had about the TV deer hunters, that's where people get the impression that if it don't score boone an crocket or pope an young then you're an idiot for shooting it....
What the tv shows don't show you is all the time spent by normal people like me and you who save money to go on a hunt and we actually help the outfitter by taking a decent buck then they let us shoot does for 2-3 days, but that don't get shown on TV.

I don't car if it's a big 135inch 8 pointer or a 90 inch basket rack 8 pointer it's still a DAMN good job by the person who managed to harvest that deer. If you and anyone on here ever gets to the point that shooting a doe at 15 yards with a bow and she never knew you were there, don't make you shake and smile then just do the rest of us a favor an quit hunting... Because you're one of the people like on TV, doing it for the trophy only and not the sport and excitment of the hunt as well as the friends you share it with over a fire drinking a beer as you clean the does you all shot that evening... That's what hunting is about to me , not to see if I have the biggest D..K to show off to everyone!

I'll wait it out, its worth it to me to sit there another 30mins knowing that the deer I couldnt see coming down the hilll that took to long may be the Buck I been waiting to shoot... If you spook them out of there I promise they look you're direction the next week. Or just avoid it till after dark all together. I'm pretty sure no one here is scared of the dark and hunting to Lol so whats it going to hurt you to wait till they eat and leave ...

I have hundreds of pics of this deer and many other with a flash camera.. I'm not saying it will not spook a deer but not once do I have proof of a deer running away because the camera flashed , and if any deer should of avoided the flash you would think this guy would be the one to do it....

A comment titled: cam in response to a report titled: Scary Trail Cam

I've used cameras for 4 years now and have 3 bucks on the wall that I also have hundreds of pics of... I used to use a moultrie with a flash and have many pics of a 6-7yr old buck on there for the past 4 years also... so no I dont believe they pay any attention to at all, atleast no more attention to the cam than the corn and minerals that magically appear on the ground every July or August..

You know why you can do absolutely nothing about em Lol, because you don't wanna leave any scent where you have big deer on camera.... You just gonna itch till first frost lol, and trust me I know you're pain... They are really bad up this was this year for some reason, only good thing is the babies have'nt been attached to anything and don't carry lyme disease or RMSF.. so no worries just itching ..
