A good day in Argentina
I shot these swans on my birthday in Argentina.
Hey everyone I hope everyone has had a good summer and is seeing some nice bucks. As everyone knows bow season is only a few weeks away and a friend of mine and myself are trying to start up a deer processing business. If you are interested in the prices and services please eamial me at email@example.com for the triangle area.
My buddy just started hunting this year. We have hunted ever week since bow season came in and he had no luck. Sometimes it had to do with just being in the wrong place at the wrong time and sometimes there were human factors that screwed him up. Today was not that day. We went out to the Butner-Falls Lake Gamelands this morning and I set him up on this oak ridge and I set off toward the back of the property to look over the water and hopefully see some ducks haha. Well we had been there for maybe an hour when i got a call on the radio that was all sorts of garbled but I could have sworn he said brown down. So I asked him to say again and again the transmition was garbled but I could have sworn he said brown down. I grabed my pack and gun and set off towards where he was when I got a that said BROWN DOWN!!! I was extatic. I quickly made my way to the oak ridge he was on and hollard for him and asked if it was dead. He said hell yea hes right here. I said he and Jeff responded with a Yea he I told you my first deer would be a buck. After we took some pictures we skinned and dressed the deer and got the cape to the takidermist. I think I may have been more excited than he was. After three months of long hours and not realeasing an arrow or pulling the trigger his patients paied off. It has been a long but exciting journey and I am glad I got to share it with him. Hopefully he will have more chances at some great deer. Good luck the rest of the season and God bless.
I finally got the big boy home today. Drap Harrell from Stoney Creek Taxidermy does awsome work.
Here is one of the duplication set of horns we had made. Next week hell be back at the taxidermist to get mounted and then March 4th the Dixie Deer Classic. I cant wait to see all you guys there.
I finall got my Buck offically scored. He went 182 2/8 inches with 5 6/8 inches of deductions. That should put him number 13 all time nontypical for NC.
