  • Well guys I finally got a buck on camera that I feel is a shooter. After only seeing many young bucks (spikes and 4 pointers).Dont know where he came from and if hes still in the area but its a glimmer of hope. this is a new piece of property I got to hunt very small piece of property that has tons of pressure around it so, I hoping not overhunting it and playing the wind right I might have a shot.

Guys dont know if its just me but the last few days have been a bust! 3 fawns is all Ive seen. I figured the deer would be moving more with the small temp drop but here in Rockingham County its really slow. Bad part is I got a itchy trigger finger and a brand new bow thats ready to be unleashed!

Well Im sure like everyone else, Im starting to get ready for the 10th. Washing clothes, practing shooting a little longer each day, and checking trail cams. Got all my thermacell refills ready which after finally trying one last year is a MUST! I lost my Hunting tract last year but was fortunate to find a small piece of property to hunt. So far its not looking very promising but good lord willing Ill get a fat slick head to walk by so I Can try out my new Invasion or as GT called it 'Black Death' lol. Just hoping every body good luck come opener!

Thought I would post some pics of my new Bow I got recently. Its a Bowtech Invasion. This is the first Bowtech I have ever owned and I will say I am really Impressed with this bow. Its fast and really accurate. A little to accurate because these new arrows cost a fortune!lol But I went out behind the house today and shot a little took a couple pics of it and thought I would share since I havent been on in awhile. Just can't wait to try it out this Fall.

I see alot of you talking about the thermacell and and Im looking to get one I was just wondering do they really work? I mean do they let off any odor or noise? Beacuse Ive gave the mosquitos more blood in 4 days then I have the red cross in years! So I need something that works.

Yeah I was afraid you would say that!! Lol I really like the technology that prime has going on with there line of bows! I'm really satisfied with my centroid and don't know if its going anywhere any time soon, but I would really like to have one bow setup for 3d or maybe even get into some indoor spots and have one just for hunting and with my long draw I like the longer ata bows so the impact is looking like a good choice.

A comment titled: Broadhead in response to a report titled: Freak broadheads

There a nock off of the swacker broadhead. Swackers are a descent broadhead but I can't tell you how these freak heads would perform. Alot of big retailers like bass pro and cabelas have there on broadhead but its actually made by a big broad head company. Like bass pro has a head that I think is called the blackout maybe and it's made by G5 and its almost the same as the g5 striker head but smaller cutting diameter etc. so more then likely this head is dicks brand made by the makers of the swacker head but done cheaper and probably a smaller cutting diameter etc.. Me personally I don't like mechanical Broadheads that require rubber bands to hold blades to together so I probably wouldn't shoot them but I'm sure they would work and for that price you could give them a shot!

Yeah GT that's me! I like to check out that site a lot. I thought that was a good deal I'm sure with the end of season
And year coming up there will be more sales. As far as my bow I haven't got it yet so my bowtech is still here at the house! The more I look at it the more I want to keep it!lolol

I was lucky enough to see it on AT and picked that deal up. Walmart got it here quick to ordered it Wednesday and it was here Saturday morning. Stand folds up good I can pack the rails on it to plus it came with pull rope, bow holders, and a tree stand lock. It was a good deal and I know Wally World sold a hunch of them. There was something in AT today about someone had a 20ft climbing stick for $29.99

A comment titled: Arm slap in response to a report titled: Questions about my bow

If you hit your arm that bad I would check your draw length. I don't know if your shooting a kisser button or not but the string should be at the corner of your lip and slightly touching the center of your nose. These are your anchor points this allows you to put the bow in the same position every time which is vital for consistent accuracy. Also this stops you from straightening your forearm out to much to get slapped. But that all goes with learning. Once you get it down you will really enjoy hunting and shooting with a bow, there's a lot more satisfaction in harvesting a animal with a bow over a gun because you really have to put yourself in the right position and make the shot.

A comment titled: No No No!! in response to a report titled: Questions about my bow

No Mathews! Had one great bow just not for me. But the invasion was one of the best bows I've ever had, and I know trading it seems wrong but just time to try something new. The accuracy was great but being a speed bow at 70lb the draw was a little stiff smooth but stiff. So going with something with a smoother draw. I'm going to try out the Prime line of bows, heard a lot of good things about them so worth a try! Lets just hope I don't regret getting rid of the invasion but if so AT Is full of bows people want to trade!lol That Asassian you got are some awesome bows!! And the black ops that bowtech make are some of the best looking bows out there!! Kinda wish my Prime was going to be black but ill see how that optifade camo looks.

That cool! GT did you have to train her or was it something she was just able to do? A few years back a buddy of mine had a lab that we tried to teach to track but to say the least we would have been better at trying to teach her to dig for gold then track anything!

I think GT's right may just be a shadow making it look like the tail is long across the back either way I would love to see one and harvest it so I could get that sucker mounted!!

A comment titled: Bobcat??? in response to a report titled: Bobcat I think

If this is a bobcat it's def. mixed with something bob cats don't have a real long tail as the animal in your picture appears to have. But they can have white spots or triangles on there ears. Still neat to see though!

No GT havent stuck anything yet but not do to lack of trying!lol I was shock to get a pic of this buck eating corn.Never ever seen a big buck over corn! Like I said in the post I havent seen anything and I put the corn out trying to stick a doe. And was just checking the camera because things have been really slow and there he was. Not really expecting to see him again but nice to know hes in the area. And with the rut starting in about a month anything can happen.

A comment titled: tuning in response to a report titled: need sum help

He has a tuning issue with his rest. When he shoots stand behind him and see if the arrows fish tail side to side after the shot. If they do his centershot is off and needs to be adjusted. Plus whisker biscuits are very sensitive to hand torque. If he shoots close fist or has any hand movement what so ever it will dramatically effect his flight path.If he can get to a bow shop and let them check his centershot. Plus I think that bow is a dual cam bow I may be wrong but if it is check the Cam timing also. If he shoots alot and fills pretty confident in bows he can try WALK BACK TUNNING that will help him with getting his centershot of his rest on. You can google walk back tunning or go to youtube and there are plenty videos to show you how to do this. But I say thatif he fill comfortable doing that if not get a proshop to look at it.

A comment titled: more Info? in response to a report titled: need sum help

Yeah there are several problem it could be but we need more info. Did he sight in with broadheads or field tips? Are they the same Grain? From just what little bit you said the bows rest is probably out of tune. Often some have to do whats called broadhead tunning. Its where your fix blade broadheads dont hit where your field points are so you tune your rest to shoot the broadheads since thats what your hunting with. Gives us a little more info and we can help you out
