  • Cross man; very good advice. One thing I will add... the 3.5 x 10 x 44 is much better than the 3 x 9 model on the conquest. One poster said use only 50mm obj. Remember this will require higher rings in most cases and a higher cheek position.I would take a better quality 40-44mm than a lesser optical quality in a 50mm.any time. Like my vx3 50mm.though.Cover your lenses when not in use,and get a lensepen to keep them clean. Not a paper towel or shirt tail.

WMS,have you tried a Carolina rigged lizard@ the hot hole and near the fence?Purple flake also the clear w/sparkles. I only catch them as bycatch now, mostly a flatfisherman and they eat my jigs and minnows. This is my home lake. There is a big hump outside the Humphreys cut that holds fish. You will find the fish deeper in the main body, its clear. After rain you can fish the mudline just past the piney bluff bridge. In the creek ends the water is cooler and fishing is more like a normal lake. They are fixin to turn on soon(3/22/18) Good luck catch em all. I hear they are mostly the spotted variety now, must have bred in.

OK,I've been hunting in Columbus and Brunswick Co. for over 25 years. Our lease is near waccamaw river.Only in the last few years have we killed many hogs.I see your perspective lease has a drainage,a plus. Those hogs run in groups mostly. You will definitely want to bait them, they roam around to the food sources. You will probably find pretty good deer hunting. This is serious snake country,be warned.I pour out corn in a line down my shooting lanes.Last year I killed two with one shot on purpose with a savage muzzleloader. My partner has done the same with an '06. We aim to kill as many as possible,as we are mostly deer hunters.Good luck. chefjeff
