It Was opening weekend of Black powder and I was excited to finally get into the stand for the first time this year. Me and my husband got into the stand around 4pm. When we got to the stand there were already deer in the field, which got me excited. Once getting into the stand, we hadn't been sitting but 10 min and two more deer came into the field. After about 45 min sitting in the stand,my husband told me not to move a big 10 pointer was about to walk out. At this point I was super excited and ready to see this deer. After about 2 min I was looking towards the end of the field and all I seen come out was horns. My heart started beating so fast and couldn't stop looking at his rack. The buck came out into the field and ran after one of the does. The buck turned back around and walked into the opening about 80 yards away. I took the safety off my knight muzzle loader and pulled the trigger. There was so much smoke I couldn't see nothing. My husband was watching with his binoculars and kept saying 'good shot you smoked him'. I was so excited and ready to see the deer. After about 15 min we got down and started looking for blood. When we got to the edge of the woods he was laying there 40 yards away. I was so relived and excited to get my hands on him. This is my biggest buck so far and truly blessed.
Went fishing with my buddy the other morning and on the second cast i caught this WHOPPER!! it weighed 11 lbs 3oz.
We started this hunt at 12 when we spotted This Tom with 10 hens and 2 jakes.. We new it was going to be a tough bird to kill. So we set up on the edge of a field lookin in a bottom at the turkeys.. We called to them and had all the hens and jakes come in within 10yrd but the Gobbler was smart and stayed out about 80yrd.. We watched this Gobbler Strut back and Forth at 80yrd for 4Hrs then Finally he walked in to the Jelly Head Range and It was all Smiles From there. Really big bird weighing in a 23lbs. with 10 1/2inch beard. 4-12-10. Rockingham County
