  • Went up to Tillery for a weekend. Stripers are starting to school up more at the Yadkin chain of Lakes in July. Got this nice striper on Tillery while trolling the bucktails. I think I had two on at one time!!! One of our mono leaders snapped!!! I thought I was hung til the rod started jerking all crazy!!!! Most stripers we catch are no more than 5-7lbs so this was a nice treat. Fish was 10lbs and was good eatin'!!!! The other fish was 14lbs and is going on the wall. Skinned him out the other day.But still going to the coast this winter to catch one that could eat him!!LOL!!! Tight lines!

i really don't hunt anymore but my dad and bro do. We have always spread it. I remember as a kid asking why cant i just put it all in a pile?? wont the deer like that more?? My dad laughed and said it'll mold like that. So we have just always spread it for deer and for the coons. We usually would cut holes in a tire so the coons could just put there hands in it!!so i assume you can do both just seems to mold faster in a pile. The deer will eat shelled and cob. We would always use shelled and sometimes throw some cobs in there.

Don't know bout the 10lb line record but you have to call the NCWRC. Just pick up a mag. at Wal-Mart or look up there website. Just type in NC Wildlife Resources Commission. State record is 15lbs 14oz but not sure bout any of the line records. The NC state records are on there website 2. Nice bass. Looks 8-9lbs. Weigh it on a scale get the girth and length then go to bass resources and if will give you a good estimate. Congrats

A comment titled: Hello Sir in response to a report titled: Hunting on Sunday

I know the Jews consider Saturday Holy and was under the Old Testament. Anyone with any since of the Bible would know this. It's a matter of AMERICA!!!That's NOT my point! We as Americans consider Sunday the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sunday (pronounced /ˈsʌndi/ or /ˈsʌndeɪ/ ( listen)) is the day of the week between Saturday and Monday. In most Christian traditions it is the Lord's Day, as opposed to the seventh-day Sabbath or Jewish Shabbat.[1] For many Christians it is the day set apart for worship of God, due to their belief in Christ's resurrection on a Sunday, according to the Gospels. The Apostle John also refers to the 'Lord's Day' ('kuriake hemera') in Rev. 1:10. 'Kuriake,' meaning 'Lord's,' later became the Greek word for Sunday.
It's a day IN AMERICA that WE set aside to worship God. That's my point. Get your facts rite so you don't look so silly. WE meaning CHRISTIANS. Just to clear that up. Don't get in a debate with someone unless you know the Bible for yourself. I mean really. I didn't think I needed to explain it so thoroughly. But I guess people need it that way to understand it. I'll make my comments more edjumcational. That word means educational. Just to clear that up. This Country boy Preacher can spell. Imagine that. I learned it in school.

A comment titled: Hunting on Sundays in response to a report titled: Hunting on Sunday

My dad is a part time pastor and hunted and fished all his life. So... like father like son. My family are all hunters and fishermen. Most churches are located in city areas which don't allow hunting to began with. Some are still out in the woods but not many. I go to church on Sundays and it's the day of rest. Day of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I AGREE with no hunting on Sundays do to that reason. In my opinion all public lakes and public woods should be closed on Sundays. Everything should be closed on Sundays that are able to. PD,FD, Hospitals, etc of course should still be open. Anyone with any common sense can see that. But you get my point. But that's not the case. So before you stop reading this and start assuming let me say this. Everything is open on Sunday including the lakes. I fell that if someone who doesn't go to church anyway should be able to hunt his or her private land. It's yours! You bought it and it belongs to you.Or if you are allowed to hunts someones private land same thing. Some people may want to go to church then go hunt on there land. I see noting wrong with that. I wouldn't do it me personally. But this law has nothing to do with God. Trust me. When 1st passed yes but now NO. God is the last thing on most peoples minds these days. I'm sure if you got a potion up and made enough noise about it something would be done. Why?? They 1st took bibles out of school then prayer. They want to take the In God we trust off money. So why not let people hunt on Sundays? Just one more step backwards for our country which was founding on God to begin with. I pray for my country and it's leaders. I love my country but am disgrace at what it is becoming. I'm not just talking about hunting on Sundays but everything we represent. That's my view of things. But if you don't know God then you don't understand why this is a big deal. Not to offend anyone. But I'm not baptist or democrat. I'm Christian. Holy Ghost filled not afraid to speak the gospel in a lost and dieing world.

I've caught many 5-6 pound bass from ponds to lakes. 5lbs being my magic number. Every one I took a pic with looked about the same size as yours. But if it was 25in. I've caught two 9lb bass and both were 25in long. They were slim with monster mouths! The head of a big bass will be big and the eyes many times will bulge out. If you can fit your fist in there mouth(if you have an average fist that is) and have room to move it around freely it's a big one. 8lbs+ probably. But from the pic 5-6 lbs looks right to me.Doesn't look over that. But I didn't see the fish so hard to guess. Hope that helps you out some. But a GREAT catch none the less. Congrats.
