Looks like you got a Hyena..jk
Struck out this season, but that's because I spent most of the season taking friends and family out hunting for their first time. I enjoyed watching their faces when they saw a deer so close for the first time. It was a good season, and I think I recruited some new hunting partners...haha. I charged my services in collecting some of the meat so I can't really say I struck out. Now it's time to gear up for turkey season, and I'm going to be selfish and require that I take the first tom.
Here's a link to a target i found online. All you need is wood, chicken wire and some old clothes. http://archeryreport.com/2011/04/diy-lifetime-archery-target/
If it's like GTs fox, you'll be catching him take a fat dump on your camera before long...haha!
That's an awesome photo buddy. The way I've seen crows fight over my corn...my money is on the crow.
With that sway belly, back and brisket, I'd say around 5 years old.
What I've learn through the years is that you spread the corn so the deer will mill around looking for it and not just sit at a large pile. If it's spread thin it won't sour and turn the deer away.
You pile it thick the standing wet corn will sour and and basically mold up and rot and the deer won't eat it.
Finding a large oak tree on a flat this time of year is a whole lot better than a bag of corn.
We were just coming off a full moon and I'm sure most of the deer walked all night and bedded down during the daylight hours. So lots of dead deer on the road Saturday morning on the way to the hunting land. This weekend should great hunting.
GT,Here's some pics I got last year when I tested out the D55 in my back yard. Great day and night photos, and I have no had any problems yet.
Awesome story, and a beast of a buck. Congrats!
'Rounding up dogs on Sunday is a God given right passed down generation to generation' now that's a laughable comment. That has to be the most entertaining line of bs I've seen on NC Sportsman in a long time.
Just another man trying to make a dollar to support my hunting habit.
