  • Does anyone know of a small tract of land where a guy could take his future wife to teach her about hunting and maybe put a doe in the freezer near Lincolnton? I'm currently stationed in Qatar right now but will be home in a few weeks. I've lost my old hunting grounds to a high paying club and don't have anywhere to go. Not looking for charity... I'll pay for rights. I just want to enjoy my down time after this deployment and kill a great dinner or ten! Please let me know. Lincoln, Gaston, Cleveland area.

We had a front coming in on us but the bite was good in shallow water. We started out down toward the dam throwing a 4' Zoom finesse worm in 'Key Lime Pie' color and threw it all day. Caught some real good fish including one 5.5# early in the day, casting up on ledges that were about 5' deep next to deep water. Water temps were around 55 degrees down the lake and were in the high 56's up the river. The water was fairly clear with a green tint. Unfortunately, after the front rolled in they suspended back in deeper water and we couldn't buy a bite. Either way, it was a good day away from work!!!

I would say that unless there in an expressed agreement between parties, then they should be able to print whatever they wish. Now, seeing as how you pay for ad space and are still struggling to make your charters then maybe it would be a good time to sit back and look at your business practices. Is it smart business to advertize this way if you aren't getting good returns from it? Does your business have a mediocre reputation compared to others who have an outstanding reputation? In this day and age, given the state of our economy, it would be wise to take steps to make your charters more appealing to the public. Lower prices (helped by not wasting money on ineffective ads) better package deals and so on, would be helpful. Your website has only had 20,000 since 2001. Not a good average at all. Take your money from here and put it toward paying for a better listing with search engines. That way, when folks look for 'charters in Carolina' yours comes up first... or at least close to it. You pay search engines for a more favorable listing position. This will get you more hits to your website, thus getting more bookings. We own a business and that one thing helped by leaps and bounds and now we have to turn away business. Not trying to be a butthead or anything... just trying to help out. I wish you better luck and more business.

No problem! If we can't help each other out as sportsmen are we really true sportsmen? Hey, if you happen to be up there and get any good info on the largemouth, pass it on!

    Keep your line tight!

I talked to some guys on Rhodhiss on March 24th who said they weren't doing any good at all. Water teps were 55 down the river and 56 up the river in the creek runs.
