  • The crappie are still smoking hot at high rock!they are still being caught everywhere on the lake. Me and my best buddy totally smoked them saturday.we caught so many we lost count, and only kept our limit of crappie and they were all PIGS! The biggest one was atleast 2lbs and the keepers were all close to or just over 1lb.it was truly a memorable day with a great friend! if anyone is interested in getting them while they are still hot drop me a line and maybe I can give you a day to remember. bentrodfishing@yahoo com

The striper fishing is the best right now its been all year! And if the weather holds,it is probably going to be as good or even better for the next month.I fished wednesday and got 11 good fish and 1 big catfish, and fished Thanksgiving day for a half day and got 6 good ones, and today I fished with a father and son for a half day and got 5,with 2 over ten pounds.I am very excited about the fishing conditions right now.Bait is still easy to find and the fish are being very cooperative. So if you are ready to get them while they are hot, nows the time. Tight lines and good fishing.bentrodfishing@yahoo.com 704-530-0599

The stripers on hickory are really turning on! I fished Sunday afternoon and caught and released 6 keepers. The fishing is comming on just like it should even with the dropping water levels.Temps are still comfortable during the afternoon and early evenings, perfect for the younger anglers to be out and catch the hardest fighting fish that swims and spend valuable time with mom or dad or both.drop me an email or give me a call and lets them get while they are hot. bentrodfishing@yahoo.com cell# 704-530-0599

Thats right it is time to get on the water and catch some fish! The water temp is starting to come down and the fishing is getting incredible. The crappie are comming in the creeks at rhodhiss and the striper fishing is not far from being great as well. And lake hickory is already showing signs of the striper turning on big time, some big catches have been made in the last week or so up river of 321.So if your ready to have a fun day on the water loading the boat with crappie or a day of chasing an opportunity for a trophy striper drop me a line bentrodfishing@yahoo.com

well depending on the size of u-rigs you use will be a derterming factor in your depths. I troll with 17lbs mono and I have found I get about 2ft of depth for every 10ft of line out at 2.5 mph

I live in Lincoln county and there are several sightings each year of these big cats,I personally saw one when I was growing up while hunting on a rural farm.It was black and approx 4ft long and its tail looked almost as long as it was,it was sneaking down a hedge row between 2 fields.I didnt shoot it because honestly it shook me up just seeing something like that
