had a deer walk 20 yds from me and it was a big bodied deer with 3 inch spikes (shouldve been too big to be a spike) I obviously didnt shoot it but then once it was in the brush where i couldnt make a shot a fawn came out tryin to catch up with this deer like it was her mother. thats when i realized it was either a horned doe or a small old buck. This was a mature 3 year old deer with spikes. I know either way i should kill it but can a doe with genetics like that reproduce? and will it pass these genes on?
I was thinkin about gettin a camera to start capturin alot of the deer im seein. any suggestions or cameras that might be good to look into? bear in mind that i am a college student so a 5 thousand dollar camera isnt exactly in my price range

I keep looking at everyones pics of 2oo+ pound deer. Why have all the deer where we hunt smaller...the biggest was a mature 10 pointer harvested by my father and it only weighed 187...And it was in full rut.
Harvested a 15 point buck in pender county.... scored 157 1/16....watched four other bucks feeding when this bruiser came out down wind of the food plot. dropped him at 125 yrds with my 7mm
