This was one of six gobblers that came out at 4:45 pm, two strutted for 20 minutes before they saw me jake decoy with two hens, then four of them turned and came 100 yards straight to the decoys for a 25 yard shot at 5:30. He had a 9 1/2 inch beard and 7/8 inch spurs.
First turkey, shot 4-14-10 at 9:30 in Halifax County, he came across a powerline straight into the calls, 35 yard shot, 9 1/2 inch beard 3/4 and 7/8 inch spurs.
I took my son's friend Jake hunting Jan 1st, just before it was to late to shoot this 4 pointer walked out. Jake made the shot with a .243 at 70 yards. The deer ran about 50 yards. We tracked it and Jake had his first deer and we have another hunter hooked for life. Jake asked me on Sunday when does hunting season start again.
Took my friend and his son hunting on Tuesday. Garrett (7 years old) shot his first deer a doe using a .243 at 75 yards the doe ran about 100 yards. They tracked and found her took a few pictures and climbed back in the stand. 30 minutes later a big 4 pointer came out, shot him at 80 yards he ran about 100 yards also. Now Garrett has his first deer, first buck and his first double all on the same night. I am not sure who was more excited Garrett or his dad.
I shot this deer on November 7th in Halifax County, he was making a scrape on a powerline. I shot him with a 7mm mag. He has a 7' brow tine on the left side.
My son shot this buck on November 6th in Franklin county he came to a food plot at 75 yards, he was shot with a .243 and dropped in his tracks. This is his biggest buck so far.
