Got my second gobbler ever one week to the day from my first! He came in with two jakes from almost 300 yards right through the middle of a field, stopping to strut about ten times along the way. When he finally got to my decoys I pulled the trigger and nothing happened! I racked another shell and still nothing. I couldn't believe he was so occupied with my decoys that he didn't even notice me fumbling around with my gun. Finally I chambered my last shot and thankfully it went boom. This one went 19.48lbs and was a good bit smaller than the tom I shot last week. 10.5' beard. Kind of sad my season ended so quickly but I've got my first born due any day now so it feels good to have that under my belt for sure!
My first gobbler, came in from over one hundred yards strutting the entire way in!

Does anybody do any surf fishing on Hilton Head? I visit the island occasionally but I've never tried surf fishing there. I did one time see a massive school of what I think were reds on the south end early one morning years ago. Just wondering, I figure there's not many people surf fishing in the winter anyway but if you are what are you catching?
