Bruce Sellers and Palmetto State Training took a crowd off shore aboard the Blue Boy located in Charleston, SC.
The weather was wonderful and catching some fine Dolphin was in store. After locating some debris, owner Douglas Heaton and Capt. Grant Bentley teamed up to create a feeding frenzy. Everyone had a blast.....Thanks again to the Captain and Crew of the Blue Boy.
Jesse Garner and his son Walker came down from NC to fish out of Black's Camp with Josh Coggins Guide Service.
Well Josh located the fish and Walker did all the pulling on the largest fish of the day. The 28 lb 08 oz bruiser Blue Cat can be seen hanging on the Bragging Board.....As you can see from the smiles this father and son team shared a great day.

MY NAME IS KEN HILL AND MY PARTNER IS BO HONEYCUTT ALSO FROM JACKSONVILLE.THE TWELVE OF US HAVE BEEN COMING TO SANTEE FOR THE PAST 18 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN STAYING WITH KEVIN FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS THE THIRD WEEK IN APRIL.. WE ENJOY BLACKS CAMP FOR MANY REASONS,, THE FAMILY ATMOSPHERE AND GREAT ROOMS AND FOOD ARE JUST A FEW OF THE GREAT THINGS THAT ARE AT BLACKS CAMP,, THE FISHING IS ALWAYS GOOD AROUND THE CAMP. THE BAIT OF CHOICE FOR ME THIS TIME WAS THE JUNE BUG SENKO,, RIGGED WACKY STYLE ON 10 LB. PRO LINE... ON MY CARROT STICK AND BAIT CASTER... THE GROUP IF 12 OF US WEIGHED IN 48 BASS ALL OVER 14 INCHES IN OUR TWO DAY TOURNAMENT. THE LARGEST BASS WAS OVER 8 LBS AND WAS CAUGHT LEAVING BLACKS JUST BEFORE YOU GET TO THE CANAL ON THE LEFT IN THE GRASS.MANY BASS WERE IN THE THREE TO SIX POUNDS RANGE THAT WERE CAUGHT BY US......... ALL THE BASS CAUGHT IN THE GRASS AND IN THE EDGE OF IT.. NONE IN THE LILLY PADS ON THIS TRIP,,, MOST OF THE GUYS USED PLASTICS AS THE GRASS WAS SO THICK,, BUT THE FISH WERE IN THERE,, THOUSANDS OF LITTLE BASS WERE SEEN IN THE GRASS AND THAT IS A GOOD THING,,, SANTEE IS BACK WITH MUCH TO OFFER FOR THE BASS FISHERMAN IF THAT IS YOUR FISH OF CHOICE.. I RECOMMEND FROM OUR EXPERIENCE THIS AREA OF THE LAKE BEING THE VERY BEST FOR BASS CATCHING...
YOUR BUD, KEN HILL
Teddy Phillips was certainly the lucky bidder at a NWTF banquet. A hunt that he and his grandson Caleb Graham won't soon forget. They were with Andy Nelms of Eagle Metals, Mfg. at Cypress Hill in Orangeburg. Caleb was the lucky one with the gun in hand. Upon a slow start, a move was in process. But just as in Duck hunting, while picking up decoys---------here comes Old Tom and things turned hot in a split second. Caleb steadied himself and took the shot at 30 yards.....The bird was 18 lbs with 1 1/16 inch spurs and 5 beards:
That is a sure fire way to be hooked for life. And I'm sure that Caleb and his grandfather are ready to try their luck again soon.....Speaking of which.....Andy, got any room for me this deer season? I'd love to see the bucks coming off your place.....
Hope everyone has a great weekend fininshing out this 2010 Turkey Season....Don't forget to enter our Turkey Photo Contest...Share with us your stories and pictures........
Durrette Wooten and Richard Stoughton won the IFA Redfish Cup Series that was held at St. Johns Yacht Harbor.
They won best out of 67 boats in Richard's 2009 Sea Fox 225BF with a Suzuki DF200. The grand prize was a $30K Ranger Bansheee Extreme Flats boat completely rigged out. This is the first tournament that they have fished in this tour.
Fished the Diversion Canal over weekend and caught a few Channel Cats using the 'Wicked Stinky' bait. I was fishing during times of strong flow created from water being pulled into Lake Moultrie.
Catfish tacos were on the menu.
When to the Tailrace in Moncks Corner and took home an empty cooler. Water was rolling so fast couldn't keep anchored, but some of the folks around me caught a few nice ones.
Hope Y'all have a Great Easter Weekend!!!!
Wanted to thank all the Chapters of SC CCA for the great time had over weekend at their State Convention in Mount Pleasant.
Unbelieveable food was created during the Chapter Cook Off competition Friday night and the banquet Sat was a lot of fun.
Hope to see you all again next year, Bret
It's coming fast....That's the 2010 Turkey Season here in SC. Bruce Sellers and I enjoyed a successful first hunt in the 2009 Turkey Season with Charles Grantham of Lynches River Outfitters in Friendfield, SC. After a good night of Social Hour and a heavy meal, Charles didn't waste any time the next morning locating the longbeards (as seen in the attached photo). Good luck to everyone in '10....And send in some pictures.....
Finally took a Saturday off from the 'Honey Do List'. I got to use that catfishing trip from last year's SCWA Berkeley Chapter Banquet. The 2008 banquet is coming soon, I think it's Saturday Oct. 11.
We met up with Capt. Glenn Hood at Black's Fish Camp. I must thank the ladies at Black's for a great breaktfast. I was ready for a nap before we finished our coffee.....Then we hit the Diversion Canal and it was time to enjoy a beautiful sunrise, up close and personal. We fished until 1:30 with most of the day spent slow drifting.
We ended up with plenty of fish to share with friends and family and enjoyed the day with Capt. Glenn. Many thanks to him for finding and keeping us on the fish.
Now I've got to make room on my 'Honey Do List' for another open Saturday in November. This time however, I'll try our saltwater side of the Low Country---trout and reds.
