Moved 1.5 years ago from south FL and trying to dial in some striper techniques. I've caught a few in the summer by trolling 6' cranks and throwing rattle baits at shad splashes, but I've been trying to figure out some consistent methods for stripers on Jordan. I assume they're not super abundant in the lake, but I've had a few caught and a few more missed hits. For what it's worth, I'm fishing out of a kayak with a fishfinder. I'll generally troll small cranks (small enough for crappie but have caught stripers on them before) northward from the dam, trying to match the depth of the shad or have the lures travel just under them. Usually I saty close to the shoreline where the depths vary until I can find out what depth the bait is hanging out in. I missed a great hit in 35' last Friday, after marking a shad school in 5' with my crank running about 7' down. Any tips on speed, color, other lures, would be appreciated.
