Big body mature older buck taken in the first 10 minutes of the Gun season opener. The buck was shot by Joseph Bell Tyson at 187 yards away with a .308 Remington Model 700. The buck stepped out of the woods around 7 in the morning with another buck right behind it. They were coming out to the herd of doe that were feeding in the green soybeans. Once the buck was hit it ran off about 40 yards and fell down in the soy beans. We new the buck was big but did not realize just how big of a body it had on it until we got up close to it. It took three grown men to get the buck up into the back of the truck. The buck was a mature older buck that had a lot of gray on its face. It was a great buck to harvest for deer management.
