Karis Ferguson has been eager to shoot her 1st deer since she turned 5 earlier this year and she did not disappoint!! She wanted to follow in her big sister's footsteps, who also shot her 1st deer at the age of 5. Her dad told her that she could shoot whatever came out first unless it was a button head. Well-little did her dad know that this nice 8pnt buck would be the first deer to walk out on her!! She shot her 8pnt last Friday in Granville County. She is the daughter of proud parents, Jeff and Kasey Ferguson, of Liberty, NC. She is a kindergarten student in Ms. Holbrook's class at Liberty Elementary School. She was happy to be able to share her special day with her dad, Uncle Kevin, her sister, 'Uncle' Kyle, PawPaw, and Mom! The females in this family prove that hunting isnt just for boys anymore!

    Wow!! Congratulations!!
That is absolutely incredible. When I was 5 I couldn't even ride a bicycle without training wheels....and Karis is shooting big 8 point bucks! Times are changing...deer hunting is definitely not just for the boys anymore. And I for one am glad to see it. The more the better...and the younger the better. Congratulations Miss Karis and congrats also to the whole family for supporting you and celebrating this accomplishment with you. You all made some great memories and that's what it's all about.
