A 2 year relationship finally comes to a end around about 4:30pm . I passed this buck 6 times last year. He was a 130ish 9 pointer that had broke his right G3 during velvet. I decided then I would try to keep him alive. He exploded in one years time to a whopping 157 inches of giant antler.

Can't believe nobody's commented on this one yet! That must be some kind of deer/elk hybrid, or maybe he just immigrated from Illinois. Congratulations, both on the kill this year and the (probably difficult) decision not to kill him last year. Please update with a play by play if you like

    Great Buck!!
I saw one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen in Caswell County about 5 yrs ago on the gamelands. I wish every hunter in NC would read your post to see what happens when you let 120-130 class deer walk. If others would start doing it this state could start producing more great bucks like yours. Nice deer...great decision last yr!!!

That is one nice deer!. You must be very proud and a true sportsman willing to wait and see if he would make it through another year.

The picture was taken at Craig Hall taxidermy at around 8 pm after i got him out of the woods and took it to show my wife, family and friends. So to answer the question about the picture being blacked out, it was dark
