I grunted this buck in! He headed across the bean field behind me. Trees were surrounding me and I did not have a shot. I grunted more trying to get him to stop and come back. There was a tiny opening between some trees. When he reached the opening I grunted as loud and hard I could, he stopped! I put the crosshairs on him and shot! He ran about 30-40 yards and dropped! I got down to look for him, but it was dark. I left my hat where I thought I last saw him. I quickly drove home to get my husband, who was watching our two babies, he's the BEST! (We take turns going hunting) He went out to look for my buck. My buck wasn't as close to the woods as I had thought and had fallen in the beans a couple yards up from where I stopped looking! I am ecstatic! This is my second double brow tine buck! I shot one identical last year with my crossbow when I was about 6 months pregnant! The rut is on, y'all!

    Awesome!
What a great deer! But the best part of the story is your determination and patience and your husband's support. Great to see everyone involved in supporting each other to be able to enjoy this great tradition of hunting. Keep it up and I am sure more trophies will be forthcoming!

And thanks for sharing the play by play. Wish everybody would do that, even for the small bucks and does. I think it's great how you share time afield with your husband and share the kid responsibilities, but i hope you guys have the chance to get afield together, cause there's nothing like sharing the experience with loved ones.
