My 9 y.o. son, Tanner, killed his largest buck to date Nov. 6 in Farmville. We arrived in ground blind at 4:00, knowing the rut should be near I used a bleat can call every 25-30 min. along with grunts. Deer activity was slow and my son getting impatient. Then out of nowhere the buck steps into the lane steadily walking out of site. As I gave Tanner his 7 mm-08 I had to stop this buck for a shot. One grunt stopped the buck but not long enough for a shot. As the buck reached the other side of lane just before getting away Tanner lays the 140 gr pellet to the right shoulder, dropping his buck. What an awesome hunt.

    Congrats.
Congrats Young man on keeping it together and making the shot. I tried to video one for a 9 year old and stop the buck the same way, only our buck had one thing on his mind....the doe at the end of the field and never stopped.
