Today we were supposed to head offshore with Chris Gravely and Drew Harrison from Charlotte, NC. but the NNE winds we have had lately made the seas offshore just too rough to have a good time trying to fish. So, we opted to stay on the beach and try for the Big Bull Red Drum we have near shore this time of year.

We started off at AR-425 and I just didn't like what I was seeing. Several more boats were there and after seeing only one Red Drum caught, I made a move to another place closer in. Here too I didn't like what I saw and made another move to an area that me, my son Chris and my wife used to fish in October years ago and we caught a lot of drum here.

I eased around the area until I spotted just what I weas looking for on the SI-TEX CVS-126 color scope. Here we got anchored up on the structure and as they say, The Rest Is Now History. Not only did we catch Grey Trout, and release Grey Trout, the guys were fighting Big Bull red Drum nearly non stop all evening.

When it was time to head back to South Harbour Marina the final count was Drew with 13 total Bull Red Drum and of those 13, 11 also qualified for the NC Citation Award.

Chris ended the day with 12 total Bull Red Drum and 7 of those qualified for the NC Citation Award. Of course, The guys will be getting 'Release Certificates' for all the Red Drum Caught and released today. Oh yeah, also Chris will be getting a 'Release Certificate' as well for the HUGE Sand Tiger Shark that he caught and released today that was estimated to be around 250 pounds and 9 to 10 feet long.
