Has anyone tried a Parker Velocity bow? I visited a local bow shop (Terry's Archery Plus) b/w Washington and New Bern to inquire about getting a bow. The service was great, and I've heard good reviews from friends who shop with these guys.

Anyways, I'm on a limited budget, left-handed, and tall (6'4'). They had a LH, Parker Velocity which I tried out and liked. The only thing I felt was that my right hand was a little sore where the bow pressed against my hand. I attributed it to being new to shooting a bow. There are few personal videos on youtube about this bow, and few reviews. A few mention issues with the grip, but they mention it being too wide, whereas I felt it a little thin! (Big hands?).

Anyway. I'm new to bowhunting, I won't be bowhunting every day, I'm on a limited budget, and am NOT after the highest bow speed.

This bow was pretty light (4.15lbs), maybe 31.5' long, with 7.5' brace height. Draw weight runs 50-70 lbs. I was estimated to be a 30.5' draw length, even though the 'formula' will give you 31.5. He set me up for 30.5 and it was just about spot on, without any tweaking.

Anyone got experience with this bow, or other Parker bows? (This one had a lifetime warranty).

Not that Bow But yes I have had a few Parkers and they are Great and their Customer Service is even greater and I say that because I seen a Guy lean his against his Truck wheel and then another Guy was ready to leave the Bow Shop parking lot and he had to move to let him out and forgot about His Bow and drove over it...Sent it back to Parker in a box destroyed and had a Brand new 1 in less than 4 Days!!! No Questions asked!!! They are in Virginia and do the best they Can to get you back in the game fast!!! Diane Shoots a Parker as well as Parker Deer Slayer so they might know more but when I shot Parker I never had a Issue...Even when I had the short life of a crossbow hunter...Parker was my choice and i sold a top of the line TenPoint to get it so.......Good Luck!!

I have a parker compound which is an older model and I love this bow. I have it adjusted right for me and its right on target. I also have a parker crossbow which I bought new and had a problem with a bad connection in the sight. They replaced the sight within a week,no questions asked. I bought a newer parker compound but haven't got it set up to suit me yet,and had even thought about selling it because I am shooting the older one so well that I have been thinking why mess with something when its right. They are great bows and obviously hold up well with a lot of use, seeing that my older one still shoots like a new one.good luck and hope this was some help.
Actually my parker was what I killed one of my turkeys with this year, and a deer.
