Had some great R&R (Rod&Reel) Cat-Fishing on High Rock with my G/Fs Nephew...Date is Wrong on First few Fish we caught but we ended up Catching 6 including a Blue and a Channel..Had 1 Nice one that might have been around 30lbs but forgot Scale in Boat and we were Pier Fishing this time...Thought I caught the same Nice 1 twice but second 1 had a Cut on it's head and the First 1 didn't... Also had a Really Good Fish Break off after a brief Fight but don't the BIG ones always get away lol? We Fished till 1:30am and he got chilly and wanted to call it a night. All Fish were Caught and released.

Nice fish. I had a feeling you would catch some nice ones. Funny how no one ever says the one that broke off was a small one, lol. Glad you had a good time. Fishing is the best medicine there is for a bad day, huh?

WELL....When you have caught as many Fish as I have.........LOL ..Seriously Don't feel Bad, I can't figure the Blues out myself but going tomorrow with a guy that is suppose to know the know-how so we will see...What you using for Bait? When I target Flatheads I use fresh live bait such as Bream...Sometimes Shad...and my favorite is White Perch because they just seem to stay frisky in the water longer and the deeper colder water puts the bream in shock and they Die quick in the Lake with no current but lately I have found the they will jump all over a Small 6 to 9 inch Baby Channel Cat if you can catch them. What Rig you using? Different catfish require Different Rigs because they have different Mouth Positions but not saying it's a Big deal because I have caught Channels, Blues and Flathead's on the same night. For Flatheads I use the Carolina rig with a 2oz Weight then Bead then Swivel then 20/24 inch leader and Hook...Not a Circle Hook..That takes the Jaw-Jacking Fun out of it lol...Call me the next time you go and Good luck

Redneck...You setting turtle Hooks? lol... Get ya some live Bait and hook them in the back right behind the fin and I take my knife and scrape a little scales off to get more scent in the water and at night you don't have to fish Deep...I caught my 54 pounder in 4 foot of water. The rape the shallows after dark looking for whatever free meal they can find like Bream beds During the day, It's the opposite...Deep cool water holes with current is where i have my best luck...Heading to Badin in a Hour to try them tonight so I'll keep ya posted.
