My Turkey Beard Collection was getting 'Bunched up' on a Single shelf so I stopped and got a Few Boards from a Old Wood shed that had fell that was well over 100 Years old the property owner told me and made me a simple Double Shelf and made it Big enough so If I ever get Lucky and kill another Gobbler I can add a beard in between each of these and Bunch them up again lol, I also cooked the Gobbler heads from this Season and did European mounts with 1 in a Cluck and 1 in a Gobbling Position. Turkey Heads are very very fragile and even though thier eyes look pea size as we see them, they are actually HUGE!!, I would say close to the size of a Gumball lol...I have always wanted to do this and Finally did and I like the results myself but I know this type of Decor isn't for everyone but everyone isn't strange like me lol. Also laying there with the call I had Fishing legend Hank Parker sign before I finished it is The 8 inch Beard my Trophy Bearded Hen had and I vowed to never shoot another 1 but That is a trophy to me also.

You done a great job on those shelves. I myself love that type of decor. My house looks like a man cave, lol. And I'm the only one in who likes to fish and hunt,so you do the math,ha ha. Guess its a outdoor loving WO-MAN cave.

I thought I had shared a pic of it before? Anyway...I felt terriable after I shot her thinking about the nest that she might have had...Just didn't feel right to me but I at least Got me 1 and it was the 1st one I had ever seen and I have seen 4 since then.

GT the turkey skulls look sweet. What is the trick with the euro mount on a turkey , do they ever get cracked or chipped from the shot ? Any tips or pointers for a first timer ?

That really looks amazing! It's wonderful what natural art that comes from nature! I'm interested in how you did the heads! I do deer and large animal euros. But never turkey. Sweet work! I hope to get that many birds in my life too!

Thanks Guys...Here's a Picture of another 1 with some Shot Pellets in it lol Pretty Cool huh? I was hoping for a few in these 2 but guess the neck got'em. It's basically the same process as a deer head ETC only the Turkey Skulls are very very fragile...I cut off all that I could with a Knife and then dug the eyes out to speed up the process..I got the water to hot because I was excited to get them finished and you will notice a few small pieces missing that are on the 1 with the shot holes..I had the pieces but they were so fragile and Brittle that they broke like a Pringle lol. I'm new to the Turkey head Euros myself and learn something new each time but my advice is to skin off all that you can and slow simmer with Dawn Dish Soap and a handful of Borax to cut down on the Grease and be patient lol I found that I kept adjusting the heat to speed the process up without knowing just how fragile a Turkeys head really is....Ask any questions and I'll help anyway I can and have fun...I smile each time I see mine lol I don't know why unless stuff like this is just cool to me lol
