Well I've did this a few times in the past but not with everything still attached so today after carefully skinning my Big 23lb Gobbler with Wings, Tail Fan, and even the head still attached..I'm gonna make my Daughter a Full Cape mount Minus the head lol I just haven't cut it off yet. Diane has did a few of these DIY mounts that turned out Nice so I thought what the heck? I'm gonna try one...Not sure where my Daughter is gonna hang it because it's gonna be big!! But I'll share finished mount at some point...Figured it would be a nice way to display my first 30 inch wide tail Fan lol

    Great job
I wanted to try that this year as well. As you may recall, I fan-mounted my first turkey from 2 years ago and was happy with it. This was my 2nd tom (and 1st one Spursuaded!).

I think I got hasty, and coupled with inexperience, I found myself cutting through the thin skin at the breast? I gave up and cut off the tail, although I'd love to do it right sometime.

It is a job that requires patience lol Ive found a Razor Blade just easing along works the best.
