    trout
Those are some beautiful trout. I love trout fishing but have never fished with a fly rod. Mostly use spinners or nightcrawlers. I hope someday to learn the art of fly fishing. Those definately look like native fish. Thanks for sharing those great pics.

    Thank you!
IF you can catch trout with spinners and bait then all you need to do is put up with the beggining hassle of the fly rod, once you get the hang of it you will never want to spinner fish for trout again! The only non fly rod fishing i will do anymore is for catfish, havent figured out how to get those big guys to eat a fly....yet lol. Trout arent the biggest fish by far, and dont fight the hardest but damn are they pretty and taste good when Im in teh mood to take a few with me. Cant beat the sceneria and the challenge either.

    Flyrod
I'm with you NCfly, I learned to use a flyrod many years ago. To date my best fish on fly was a 12 pound steelhead, in Northern California. Even still I have caught Large Mouth Bass on fly as well as American Shad and love just going to the local pond and catching panfish.

Diane00, flying fishing is not only art but is like learning to shoot a bow, which you do well. It just takes time, practice and technique. It is a peaceful, rhymic thing!

    dream
I can only dream of a 12 pound steelhead on a fly! AMerican shad look fun. I have more luck hunting bass with top water lures then with a regular rod and top water lures. You just get a better 'pop' with a fly rod. Diane, if you ever want to go fishing let me know i got a few extra fly rods and love to teach. Not only is it an artform and peacefull, it gets to a whole nother level when you start tying flys with animal fur/feathers you harvest yourself. Catching fish on deer hair streamers you tied with your own deer tail is a great feeling. IM hoping to get a turkey this year to utalize the feathers for some projects im working on.
