  • Bird Hunting-Clinton House Plantation

Quail season for most of the state has been over for a month, but quail preserve season has continued through the end of March. One of the most popular quail preserves in South Carolina is the Clinton House Plantation. Located in Clinton, the Clinton House is managed by Mike Johnson, who trains bird dogs as well as runs the Clinton House.

Mike wrapped up the season with a quail/chukar/pheasant hunt recently where the clients enjoyed watching the pointers and spaniels point and retrieve. The finishing touch on the hunt was grilling the birds, then driving around the Clinton House to watch the next birds in season--the wild turkeys--which are plentiful on the plantation's grounds.
