Just an observation

Parkerslayer, Do you fish?
I have been fishing slatwater for a long, long time on the North Carolina coast> I have fished between Southport, NC all the way up to Hampton, Va
My mom's side of the family is from Hatteras Village, Frisco, and Buxton, NC.
Spent many a summer vacations in Hatteras>
So what is my point?
Well, if you fish, you already know even if you don't know that you know.
Know what I mean?
Okay, I can go to the south end of Topsail Beach, NC and use a gold Hopkins spoon and catch red drum. I can get in my truck and drive 19 miles to
North Topsail Beach, and the drum won'r even give that spoon a glance much less take a bite at it.
OKay, soeand another hour and drive to Morehead City, NC> Better have some cut bait or clams.
DRive another 3 hours and a short ferry trip to Cape Hatteras. Everything you used so far to catch drum will not work cause they are not biting it.
How about trout or stripped bass?
Seems like they change there mind from day to day what they will bite>
Not sure if you ever fished on a coastal fishing pier or not, so you might not know how fish will bite on one side of the pier but not the other. They will swim around the pier instead of going under it.
Now, for the life of me, I cannot understand why a fish that might only e 1 1/2' thick cannot swim between two pilings that are 30 feet apart!
Okay, my point is this: fish act differently from one geographical area to another. THose ares can be just around the bend, or 200 miles apart.
Water temperature makes a huge difference>
Oh yeah, I have a friend at work who gave me his auto corn feeder because it was useles to him. The deer in his area wouldn't touch the corn> He bought it from local mill, from a neighbor, from Bass Pro Shop and even Tractor Supply Co.
So he goes out and buys a bag of cobb corn and the dder eat it like it's the first meal they ever had!
So anyways, my pointy is,in the area where Gobbintom is located..the turkeys may respond to any particular sounding call better than any other call.
He mentioned that he hates a gobble call. WEll, where I am located ( 4 miles from Atlantic ocean as the crow flies) gobble calls are the cream of the crop and what the toms respond to.
Maybe in Raligh they answer to the sound of BMW's cranking up or like the smell of all the BS rolling out of the capitol building? LOL!
AS for Diane, I can't say i am much different. I don't play the brand loyalty card, but if I discover something that works, and works great....I will tell anyone and everyone about it.
Hope you bag a big one....I'm going to!
