Yeah my family has a beach house so during the summer I'm a beach bum! this was my first time shore fishing, I usually pier fish when I go down. I go fishing a lot in the ponds and rivers at home that's where I mainly fish! That's one thing I want to do is going fishing off a boat I really want to deep sea fish... Hopefully ill be able to this year!

Yeah lol I was wondering what happened...Trucks were Surf Fishing and crabbing when we left and when we got back, there was 2 trucks over half-way under the water? Must have wondered off from them? I know I had a great time that September and ate some Great Food!!!!

That is a great fish.....Springtime fishing is definitely starting to move in...Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forums!!

Are you by chance related to Doug & Chris Medlin from Surf City??

    I don't understand
I just don't see how you could leave your truck where you can't see it anymore without moving it back first! It's a shame...but we had a guy flood his ford in one of the lakes near me I still can't figure out what he did but he doesn't even have the tide to blame! lol

Thank you! Glad I can be here! Nice I wish I lived at the beach! But our beach house is at Holden beach I'm not sure how far that is from southport but I'd say maybe a 30 or 45 minute drive?

Welcome to the site. Nice catch. I was wondering if the REDS were hitting in the surf but, you answered that question.

Holden beach is about 30 miles south of Kure. I've fished there in the past alot. It reminds me of Topsail island, in that it's more of a fishing beach than a get your truck stuck in the sand beach...lol! Masonboro Inlet is a little north of Kure and also has some nice red fishing. Here's one I caught there. My wife will not hunt but she loves the beach and surf fishing!
