Hello, I have to ask...Why would you choose Wake County over Chatham County to Turkey hunt??? There were only 45 reported Turkeys killed in Wake county Last season with only 5 coming from public land (Game lands) compared to 159 Total reported Turkeys from Chatham with 23 coming from Public lands. But I do wish you guys the best of luck!!! It's a Rush for sure!!!...Keep us posted.

    chatham county holds big birds!
I grew up in cary nc and hunted in chatham and wake county growing up. i was in a private hunting leave that was full of turkeys in chatham county...any of the game lands around jordan lake will have birds. Its been years since I hunted there but my first and biggest bird to date was killed in chatham county. 24lbs 11 1/2in beard and 1 1/2in spurs. Good luck to you all and hope you find some birds. ill look at my old maps and see if i can figure out the name of the tracks i used to hunt

    thank you for the reply
Thanks for the info.. I only asked about Wake Co because we live in Wake Co. We lease property in Chatham Co. We haven't seen activity in our area so we thought maybe try to find somewhere else to hunt. If it was local that would be a plus, but considering your statistics looks like we may need to look elsewhere. So any advice where to find property for lease (season or weekend) would be much appreciated. Thank you again for the comment. as soon as I get my 1st turkey I will post pix :-)
