Both my girls love to fish. My oldest is almost 17. My youngest is going on 16. The youngest will fish all day! My oldest has more raw talent, but is easily bored! We hope to get to Bentonville this summer to see where my gggrandfather fought during the war in 1864 as a NC junior reserve with the 71st Regiment. He was 16 and Sherman was coming from Atlanta to Goldsboro burning homes as he went. He joined to try and stop him. By this time of the war the south was running out of supplies as well as men. It is said that the boys fought well and turned back several of Shermans charges with experienced soldiers. Which is pretty amazing being they were out numbered 7 to 2. If he had died, there. We wouldn't be here! Thank God Sherman thought it more important to go on to the coast to meet up with more troops, instead of pressing the issue at Bentonville. My ggrandfather was born later in 1869 after the surrender. I may add your fishing hole to our bucket list for our trip! Thanks for the info! Looks like a fun day for you there!
