HAVENT posted in a while, been real busy. Any ways ,in my neck of the woods, the big day for the first NOV. rut occurred on 11-20-12. Is ay it based on a crap load of deer movement, chasing and daytime action . It lasted for 2 days and then shut down to a slow normal here. My thoughts are the Dec rut is on right now . based on the same action as the first rut, just not as extreme. This weekend should be awsome with the cold coming back. Im still after the bruzer leaving the sign around here. Anyways congrads to all who scored , and good luck to those still in the hunt...jager..

If you have a lot of doe's, yeah!
I think the doe that didn't get pregnant near other full moon's, will come in again! Or if there was so many in heat at once, and there weren't enough bucks to get it done! Yeah! Either way, I know if so, then the bucks will be worn out by JAN. ;)

Thanks for the post Jager. Half of what you see on here are pictures with little or no story/info. to go with it (basically boasting.) I especially appreciate the grab-bag of what we get from GT and friends as well as ones like this where we can learn a little from each other and even challenge some issues along the way - loved the dog hunting spat..

The property I hunt is in S.E. Durham Co. and I didn't see much activity either till around Nov. 17 and saw it really amp up the 20th and 21st. Unfortunately, I traveled for Thanksgiving this year and feel I prob. missed a few of the best days of the rut around here. Goin out Sat. too and hope for the best despite the high winds forecasted. Best of luck!

    Yes, it's on.
Hunted (successfully!) in Halifax Co., last weekend, and saw fresh scrapes. My host had been around the perimeter of the field the day before and saw no scrapes. The next morning, he observed a doe pee on a brand-new scrape, then passed on multiple bucks - saving them for next year or later.
