    Hello again, Jeremy
1.what kind of arrow do I need grain, spine, weight, tip weight, inch veins?

This is where you really need to do your Homework or go to a Pro Shop for help...You want your arrow to be a correct Total weight for your Bow so it will Not be too light or heavy...Too light and you risk of damaging your bow because it will be similar to Dry Firing it with No arrow at all and that can get ugly in a hurry!! To heavy and you rob your set-up of several things like speed and a flat trajectory on the release...I myself am Not into speed Bows because Speed aint worth a flip if you can't hit with it...Well I take that back...It will cause you to miss quicker lol...I Think Easton has a chart you can Google with your Weight, Draw Length Etc that will get you started.

    2.Your thoughts on whisker biscuit?

When I first seen 1 of these I thought it was a vacuum cleaner accessory? lol But They are a great Hunting style Rest and really a No frills simply way to shoot a bow and it's always where you know it needs to be with No Springs, Cords ETC that can fail...I actually hunted with a Biscuit this season and if you decide to go with 1 I would recommend spraying the bristles with water repellent. You do loose a little speed and they are hard on certain fletchings but in my opinion, They are a great Hunting rest!!!

3.Thoughts on index finger or thumb release?

This is gonna be a personal preference also...I have shot Both and have always went back to a Wrist Style Buckle release aid...Just my thing, Not saying it will be yours...Again, before you spend a small fortune on these things, Go to a bow shop and ask to shoot several styles and you will know when you find yours!!

4.what brand of arrow are the best for the cheapest budget?

Again, With the Crazy Archery world..It can get expensive!! But for hunting, I don't think you can go wrong with Gold Tip arrows!!! There are a great tough arrow for the price and will do what you want and that's let the Air out of a animal...If you get caught up in what the PROS use..You better have a fat wallet...The Gold Tip expeditions are a great value for a hunting arrow!! Victory Makes a Good budget arrow as well.rnrnGood Luck to ya...Your gonna have a great time Archery Hunting!!!!!!

    Start cheap
Man there's no reason to spend a bunch of money to start out. Find a deal on some arrows after season is the way I try to go. get a half dozen of two or three brands/weights and shoot them against each other. Use the best to hunt deer next fall and use the others for harassing squirrels this winter. I like checking dicks often after season ends. Last year I got a dozen Beeman ics arrows for 25 dollars there.....
I got a dozen carbon fury arrows from bass pro last year for 50 bucks and was surprised at how tough they were, but they were super heavy like 10.5 gpi. Now I use em for squirrels rabbits and groundhogs.

I like the whisker biscuit myself. Holds up in bad weather and its no fail with full containment if you ground hunt a lot like I do. I will say that 2' blazer vanes seem to shoot better through my biscuit than 4' , but maybe that's just my rig.

I like a trigger release on my arm but you might be different depending on your anchor.

Dont know if any of this will help you, but I like going cheap until you can really figure out what works best for you and your bow.

    Cool deal
Dang APH, that was a steal on those Beamans!!! I would have bought them all and Ebayed those lol and I agree...The 2 inch Blazers zip right through a Biscuit...Nice Public Land Buck you got BTW...Jeremy I wanted to add that you could check out Archery Talk and find used deals...I just bought a New Black ops Assassin on there and also a HHA Optimizer Ultra .10 Pin with Speed dial and rheostat for $90 bucks that was 1 week old and the Price was still on it when I received it and original cost was #239.99...Again Good Luck

Like GT said archery talk has a lot of good info and a lot of helpful people who will answer any question you have. Plus the classifieds are great way to get deals, matter of fact I just traded my Bowtech invasion on there!

    Oh No
WHAT??? Sportsmen??? Why??? Man that thing was AWESOME!!! I just got a Black Ops Assassin and tricked it out in red also...What ya gonna get? Please don't say the M word unless its Martin lol

    No No No!!
No Mathews! Had one great bow just not for me. But the invasion was one of the best bows I've ever had, and I know trading it seems wrong but just time to try something new. The accuracy was great but being a speed bow at 70lb the draw was a little stiff smooth but stiff. So going with something with a smoother draw. I'm going to try out the Prime line of bows, heard a lot of good things about them so worth a try! Lets just hope I don't regret getting rid of the invasion but if so AT Is full of bows people want to trade!lol That Asassian you got are some awesome bows!! And the black ops that bowtech make are some of the best looking bows out there!! Kinda wish my Prime was going to be black but ill see how that optifade camo looks.

Cool!! You know Mathews New Bows the Chill and Creed were re-Called with bad Limb Pockets LMBO!!! Kinda Funny since Bowtech had a Limb issue a few years ago and got bashed hard!!! What comes around goes around huh? I like Prime Bows but that dual track cam just scares me lol Looks like something else to go wrong but a Buddy of mine had a Prime swift and it was a sweet deadly Quiet bow!!! Here;s my Black Ops if you hadn't seen my post about it.

    Hoyt
Hoyt makes a great Bow but the 2 I have had weighed a Ton!! it seemed, The Assassin Package for $500 ready to shoot couldn't be beat AND it came with 6 Arrows cut to size....I loved my other Assassin but that tree-stand camo looked like a halo in Low light...I sold it for $425 and then Sold all the R.A.K accessories of this 1 on Ebay for $110 so I felt Good after I got done dealing lol BTW, I bought this QAD Arrow rest off of AT for $30 never used...That was a deal also. Just wish it was red LOL

    my two cents
Question 1 i would need a little more info to tell you what spine you need an offer suggestions on arrows for your setup .
question 2 is all up to you as a shooter if you like it keep it.
question 3 is also personal but i shoot a thumb release due to the fact that most wrist strap releases i feel like the trigger is to far away an i have to stretch my finger to get to the trigger. I will also tell you a thumb release promotes better form.
question 4 as long you stay away from the .003 an .001 striaghtness the arrow companies offer then you can pick whatever company you want too i prefer Easton arrows an would recommend the powerflight arrow they make.

If you are in touch with gobblintom get my number an call me i can plug your bow specs into my shaft selector program an get the spine length an tip that would work best for your setup. I would not recommend trying to do it yourself just learn how to shoot properly because setting up a bow can be a little tough lol i enjoy it though

    and another thing
Seek help at a proshop if your looking for one i recommend droptine archery in advance nc. Robert is one of the best an plus he has an indoor range that you can shoot at. it will be worth the drive for his help in my opinion its the only real proshop in the area.

    can spend alot
I agree with goblin tom. Archery hunting is high if you want to spend the money on it which I did. I shot a whisker biscuit on my last 2 bows and now shoot a QAD drop away. As far as releases go I have shot a Carters chocolate addiction $190 (small fortune) T handle release But I do not hunt with it because I may drop it out of the tree I now shoot a tru ball beast ( about $100 after tax) only bad thing about it has the bone collector logo on it. (Bone collector is one of my favorite shows but I don’t want everything to have to have their logo on it) I do believe you should spend some money in a good release because you want to be able to set it like a rifle trigger. I used to shoot red head carbon fury arrows I have now switched to carbon express maximum hunters the only problem is with lighted knocks and rage broad heads you are looking at $38 bucks each. I shoot a Mathews with Mathews quiver and fuse stabilizer along with all that other stuff on it. Yes goblin tom I DID have a fat wallet and now I have an anorexic wallet.

    yep
LOL mps That's Funny but I have shot Mathews also and thier customer service turned me against them when my brass stabilizer bushing came out and instead of helping me...All they wanted to talk about (Practically laughed at me) was how old my Mathews was and how far thier bows have come Blah blah Blah and I finally had to install a heliCoil myself to get my stabilizer to stay in Bow...Alot of people Love Mathews but I have seen First hand from Bowtech and Parker about what a TRUE lifetime warrenty is lol...By the way, I wished you would have checked archery Talk...Guy had 3 BEAST BC Releases on close-out for $39 to your door and they had the swept back trigger also but I agree, He is rolling in the money and there's no way!!! he can use everything his logo is on..Kinda false advertising really but 1 thing is for sure..CHINA LOVES him!!!!

Went and bought target and arrows
Ok we'll I went to bass pro last night to get a good target and some arrows, I came out spending 92 dollars got my target, half dozen 340 spine redhead blackout x3 arrows with 100 grain field tips, now revert back to my specs 67 lb draw weight 29 inch draw length, lets hear some comments on how I did good or bad haha! And update dry fired my bow fixing my peep sight last night fingers slipped here's a pic of the aftermath.

    QUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
Uh? 67lbs and they sold you 340 spine arrows? I would be thinking at least 400??? And yeah You got bite Good there...The worst part of getting slapped early is it can lead to Target Panic which is hard to cure because that slap is gonna stay in your mind for a while lol Did they even cut your arrows? 1 thing about Box stores is don't expect that they think you know exactly what you need...Ask questions and if you cant get a straight answer, I would move on...You will get there but yeah I seen a guy loose a tooth trying to turn his peep with his mouth at full draw and touched the release!!! In other words...when it's right...You don't have to do things like that!!!

    Bass pro
Yeah the cut my arrows down for me and the guy said 340 spine for my weight he said it was right inside the 340 spine range so idk lo, and thats not my first strinp slap although it is the worst ive had it doesnt stick around with me so it wont affect my targeting

I just looked at thier Blackout Chart and you do have the Correct Spine arrows for your Draw length, I was thinking 400 because I shoot a 50/60 pound Bow but anyway, Don't give up Buddy, Get you a Arm Guard and stay with it lol Pain is Good when your determined to succeed!!! I will say though when your Draw length is correct, String slap shouldn't be a concern. Must have been some serious Bow torque going on lol

    string slap
Sounds like your bow arm is out of postion thas what causes string slap

I'M Sorry Jeremy but just read you commenet again....'dry fired my bow fixing my peep sight last night fingers slipped'... Mind sharing how this happened?

Again Jeremy, When your Draw Length is correct 'Over extending your Bow arm' shouldn't be a factor in my opinion...You want a fluid motion solid stop at full draw..When you tinkering, try adjusting your draw to 28.5 and see if it doesn't make a difference.

I adjusted my peep sight and began to draw it back with just my fingers I was not paying enough attention because I was talking to the fiance she was like I want to see the peepsight I was like okay come here haha, pulled it half way back fingers slipped off because I was preoccupied and pow! I started bleeding and cussing up a storm.

LMBO!!! Wow!! Guess she wont ever take up Archery lol Don't feel bad I grabbed a High Dollar Bow off the shelf and wasn't aware it was 80% let-off and same thing...Summer and my hands were sweating and on let down that thing bounced 20 feet across the floor, Embarrassed the crap outta me but I was great friends with the store owner and it's a good thing because I would have had to buy a right handed Bow and i shoot left lol

Jeremy, Bearice sent me a text stating I was telling you wrong because I haven't seen your form (I've only Bow-Hunted for 20 years) But anyway so instead of typing the formula in, Watch this How to Video on how to find your Correct draw length, Pretty simple and Good Luck.

    good deal
Glad you found someone to show you the ropes an help you learn to shoot my advice is to listen to them an forget what all we told you here because every person shoots a little different an listening to more than one person when learning how to shoot can be bad. good luck

    Arm slap
If you hit your arm that bad I would check your draw length. I don't know if your shooting a kisser button or not but the string should be at the corner of your lip and slightly touching the center of your nose. These are your anchor points this allows you to put the bow in the same position every time which is vital for consistent accuracy. Also this stops you from straightening your forearm out to much to get slapped. But that all goes with learning. Once you get it down you will really enjoy hunting and shooting with a bow, there's a lot more satisfaction in harvesting a animal with a bow over a gun because you really have to put yourself in the right position and make the shot.
