Shot this big doe yesterday afternoon. Had three come out and didnt act spooked or anything. I think they where aready bred. I wouldn't think that three does in heat would be together, and they where all the same size. Someone tried to get her earlier in the season cause she had buckshot in her around here backbone and a couple pellets in the one of her hams. The wounds had mostly healed but you could tell it was from this year. People say the bucks are tough, but I think the does are tougher...lol. She couldn't run from the 270 hitting her in the neck though. Almost added one of the other ones but when I chambered a new round they took off. I think the rut here in Johnston County is off this year or started earlier or something. Seen a few small bucks but let them go for another year, hope they make it. Well got to get back to making jerky and sausage. Goodluck everyone!
