  • Power Line RULES of the Road.

I like to hunt long distance! It has simply become a hunting style that suits my need. I don't have as much time as I used to so scouting is not an option. I spend more time hunting for a long stretch of road than I do looking for sign. There simply needs to be good sources for cover, food, and travel corridors and I have everything that I need to make a good hunt. I typically use a sandbag underneath my 7mm Remington Mag and I carry a chair or rest of some sort with me. Drop down into the middle of the road, gas line, Power line or clearing and keep my eyes peeled. Since I am mostly a meat hunter I don't have to be too picky. If It's a legal deer and I have a clean opportunity I am usually going to come home with the bacon. For me it is about shooting and taking an accurate shot on an animal and taking it out quickly so that the meat is as good as it can be. Most animals I prefer to shoot in the head for a quick clean kill. Get out there and get your deer while you can. The best way that you know how. Your way or my way, just enjoy yourself and make the best of what you have.

    Good Luck
