I pulled my camera after hunting yesterday evening just to see if the deer that had made the scrape and the rubs would show up and well, I think he did. I am guessing a 3 year old deer scoring maybe 115-120 which is a shooter to me all day long. What do you all think about his age and score?

    Nice deer
I think your right on the 3 y/o part, but I be that deer is mid 120's. Good looking deer...and his hocks are already stained...Below is a link to an article I read about the rut falling between the last week of October and first week of November this year. If this bucks gland are any indication, he might be right on....Enjoy

    Nice Deer.
Well I'm going to comment on my option only. You all know that feeling when a nice buck gets in front of you, heart gets racing, eyes locked on that rack, just a overwhelming want. When a buck like that runs in on me or walks in, that's the feeling I get, that is why I hunt. That feeling of nothing but that buck is in my head. That uncontrollable heart beat, that desire to get my hands on his rack, no matter what score he adds up. I tell you, I get that same feeling when I shoot a nice doe, no deductions, score of zero. I pray that the feeling I'm talking about will never go away, that's why I hunt. I sometime sit in my trophy room, as my Wife calls it, and reminisce of the deer on the wall. I can remember every hunt, the feeling and the emotions after squeezing that trigger. I do not regret shooting any of them. My friend, I will say it like this, you have a very nice looking buck on that camera. If your a hunter like me, put him on the wall. You will have a ever lasting hunt that you can look at every day if you like. I have some 100's on the wall that made my heart jump, just like I stated above. Thank you for letting us see your buck, he is a very nice one. If I was ever lucky enough to have him in range, I would put him on the wall with the rest. God Bless.

    Spot on
livetohunt..Very well said!!! That's the exact attitude I have each time I'm in the woods. I have nothing to prove to anyone and like you I sit and look at my Trophies and I can remember each Hunt play-by-play...I left a few out there over the years and some of my trophies wont make the Cut for some hunters but like you said...It was my decisions and my hunt and I for 1 am proud of each and every one of them!!!! Good Luck

That is a great buck GWP!! I think you are right own with your score and age....Hope you get a crack at him....

@Phish-Good article man. I saw the most 'rut' activity last year the weekend before Halloween and a couple day after. We had a big storm front and cold front move through and there were several big bucks killed around here that were chasing hot does. Like usual I was only able to hunt one of the good evenings and after 5 rattling sequences I had a buck show up all but one time. Too bad none were big enough but I have never seen that kind of response to rattling around here....

    High Hopes!!!
I agree with you guys totally!!! I do not have a buck on the wall and think this would be a great buck to start with. This might even be the biggest deer I ever have a shot at, who knows what the future holds. I do indeed remember every deer I have killed so far which include small bucks. About three years ago when I really got serious about hunting I told myself I would not shoot another buck if I was not going to get him mounted, be it a euro or a shoulder mount. I hope this is my year to take a wall hanger for me, score really doesnt matter to me either I was just wondering what all of you thouhgt. Thank you all for the encouragement and well wishes on this deer. God Bless you all and hopefully I will have a play by play and a pic with my hands on those beautiful antlers!!!

That is awesome man!! I to have pretty much the same goal. If I am not going to mount it I am not going to shoot him unless he is jacked up or injured...I have way too many does to shoot for meat lol....I do not have a NC buck on the wall other than my first two I shot when I got into hunting. They are both euros though. I will be waiting to see that pic of you holding up those antlers!!
