Well i had a great day last saturday. I got to take my son to the woods with me and spend time with my father as well. the morning was slow and rainy, only saw a fawn and a hen. around noon the rain broke and i decided we would get in the stand early. walking to the stand with a my son i spot a doe on the feeder 200 yds away. surprisingly when i crouched down he followed my lead and she had no idea we were watching her. as she eased back off the path we snuck to the box blind. i made it in the stand and as my 4 yr old is climbing up the stairs the doe and 2 others step back out on the path. i whispered to him to freeze. as they got closer and closer he did an awsome job at staying still, when they got to 120yds i figured it was time to put the hammer down on the big one. i shot and only saw smoke (of course) but heard a loud smack. i looked down at my kid and he says GREAT SHOT DAD! it definately made me laugh and made me proud at the same time. we gave her a few minutes and then went and found blood. she only ran maybe 50 yds. It was a great day in the woods with my little man and i wish i could get as excited as he was to see the deer again! no doubt in my mind he will be a great outdoorsman. take a kid hunting its well worth the effort!
