  • Really Good Fishing in Myrtle Beach

Capt. Justin Witten of Flygirl Fishing Charters says that there is, “really good fishing right now in Myrtle Beach.”

Capt. Witten has been catching fish off the north jetties in Murrell’s Inlet, and he says that the seat trout are biting real good, and the reds are hitting fine. “There is a lot of bait out there, and the fish are cruising up and down the jetties looking for bait.”

Capt. Witten is throwing a 3-4 inch live mullet for the trout and a 5-7 inch live menhaden for the reds. He will usually fish two rods with mullet and two with menhaden and throw the baits right in front of the rocks for these cruising fish.

Capt. Witten says that he has had the best luck on the back side of the rising tide, slack tide. He says that they have also been catching a lot of fish on artificals like the Gulp shrimp and grubs, but live bait has produced the biggest fish.

According to Capt. Witten,he red and trout fishing should stay good till the end of the month. So if you are in Myrtle Beach, give Capt. Witten a call at (540) 250-5995 or email him at
