After seeing GT's post about his bow it reminded me that i haven't shared my new toy. After buying a hoyt turbo vector in February and spending months shooting i finally came to the conclusion that the bow just didn't fit me so i put it on archery talk for trade and luckily the first offer was the bow i wanted to trade for. This is a 2012 prime shift an all i can say about this bow is WOW. this thing fits me to a tee. i have a 28' draw an shoot a 390 grain arrow so when i ran this through the chronograph an found i was shooting 285 fps i was amazed that not only was it smoking fast but it is the most accurate bow i have owned. For the rest i went with the 2012 trophy taker extreme fc. the sight is a Montana black gold single pin ascent. When i said accurate i meant it i can hit a 1/2' dot at 25 yards and learned real fast that i don't shoot more than one arrow at a dot unless i feel like buying more lol. It feels good to have a bow that i am confident in shooting so now if i can get them smart mountain whitetails to stop coming into the field on the opposite side that I'm hunting then just maybe i can break this bow in right an put some meat in the freezer.

Sweet Bow Bearice and Thanks for turning me onto Archery talk also...Some Great deals on there and I'm Happy with my Assassin...It Looks brand New and will sling'em brother lol...I couldn't believe that on 58lbs that thing is spitting arrows at 282FPS and the valley is awesome along with the creep factor. I noticed on Archery talk that the PRIME Bows are really starting to get noticed...Are they Made by G5 or did G5 sell out and they company is called Prime now? Great Looking Bow!!! Good Luck!!! That Yote even looks like he is scared to death of that Bow lol...Sorry had to toss that in there lol

    G5
G5 has two lines the quest line is there basic bow but the prime is there top on the line. kinda like Matthews an mission both are made by Matthews but the mission cost less lol. I am glad u got that bow sounds like its going to be a shooter. the creep factor u speak of is known as having a solid backwall and this bow probably has the most solid backwall of any bow out due to the design of it.

    You DOG!
Man you should have called me. I want that Hoyt bow. I know why you had problems with it and why you have better control with the one you got....'Brace Height'! The Hoyt has flatter or shorter brace height '6' than your new bow '7'. A shorter brace height carries the arrow longer on the string, which gives you more speed but, at the same time is less forgiving. I want the speed.

My Trykon Hoyt has a brace of 7 1/4 and with the speed pro arrows I was shooting 314. I found out the Speed Pro's @ 6.5 grains are dangerously brittle and I busted 2 arrows on the string @ #70 draw. I'm now shooting the Gold Tip Velocity @ 7.5 grains, a little heavier and stronger but, not as heavy as my Gold Tip Pro Hunters @ 8.5 grains. The new arrows combined with 1 3/4 inch shield cut fletches and 100 grain RAGE.....yes Rage broadheads (I made the switch) but haven't ground checked them yet! Are smoking fast. I haven't chronoed them yet but I would guess I'm pushing 300 fps.

Good luck with the new bow. It's more than fast enough to kill anything. The key point is having control with whatever bow anybody chooses to shoot. You should check out some arrow tuning and drop your total grain weight if you're looking for more speed and control!

Tell GT to forward the picture I sent him. First arrow tested at a distance. I can hook you up with Inferno4me!

After shooting my BOWTECH a few days on 58 and the way my shoulder gives me fits I'm thinking about dropping my poundage down even more because even though it's shooting 282..That don't interest me in the least because I'm NOT a speed freak lol Speed aint worth Nothing if you can't aim true!!! I just want a smooth Draw and quiet Bow regardless of how fast it is myself.
