On Sept. 26, 2012 I set up in a head of woods located in a cut corn field. The head was looking toward a hedge row with acorn tree's. I was in a ground blind made of natural surroundings an old camp chair with some homemade shooting sticks. 15 or 20 min prior to dark I was watching 3 doe and a small buck when I noticed him step out at 300 yrds. By the time i turned and set up he had walked to within 250 yrds. Took the shot and he fell at the hedge row. Didn't realize how big he was until I got right up on him.Needless to say I was speechless. By far the biggest buck i have taken in S.C. 215 lbs. 10 pt. It goes to show, you don't have to be a tv pro or pay unbelievable amounts of money. Just do your homework and manage your land.Killed right outside of Bennettsville, in Marlboro Co.
