    Mooresville
Around that area if you bow hunt you might talk to some of the housing developments cause alot of the places like that have a problem with deer. well let me rephrase that the deer have a problem with people moving in buying up all the farm land an building houses on it lol other than that you would have to go north towards statesville an find land to lease or look at the public land around that area. you should be able to find the public land info on the NCWRC website.

Thanks, I will have to look around, don't have a bow but am getting ready to buy a crossbow soon, I can't draw a normal bow due to a nice rebuilt elbow thanks to the taliban. I will probably miss archery this year seeing as its already half over but can't wait to get out and see what I can get.

Thank all of you for posting and getting me started. I just got the license in the mail and all i can say is WOW!!! You are allowed to take 6 deer per season here. I am originally from PA and the limit per year is 1 buck and you have to put in for a lottery for a antlerless. I love this state is all i can say!!! I am open to any big game hunting and if anyone else would like to go out, even if it is on public hunting grounds just let me know, or if anyone needs help sighting in their rifle or pistol I have a lot of knowlege in that area.

There is a nice game land East out hwy 150 toward salisbury...I hunted it some a couple bow seasons ago and saw some deer and during bow season I was always the only truck in the parking lot. I cant speak for rifle season! Good luck!

    all you want
In NC you can shoot as many deer as you want. But only 4 bucks witch I think bucks should be less. It6 cost 10 dollars to buy 2 extra do tags at a time. Going to get me some this week. I use them trying to get the doe numbers down. I may shot 2 bucks a year at the most. I wish we would only get 2 buck tags a year.

Only 2 Buck tags for most of the state but some areas still have 4...I'm happy with 2 and I know the people that have already anchored a nice Buck are happy as well that we don't have only 1 Buck tag... In my Home state of West Va...You get 1 Buck Tag with the option of buying another...But you must buy it at that time..Not after you have already used the First 1...But remember, their rifle season is only 2 weeks and 1 week of Muzzleloader and that comes in after Rifle season.

    deer
I am all about hunting to provide food for the family, not a trophy hunter in any sense. I think 2-3 total deer for me would be more than enough to last through the winter to spring time. The elk I took last year gave us burger, steak and jerky from november to may. If anyone gets the chance to go out west to hunt elk i highly reccomend it. They are amazing animals and soo damn big you need a hoist to get them loaded into the truck, we had 4 guys and were struggling, lol. I hvae never got a deer before, shot at a few when I was younger but didn't have the right tools for the job i guess.
