  • Lake Murray Fishing Report

The striped bass fishing on Lake Murray is good right now. The folks at Lake World report that anglers are having success catching stripers in all depths from 30-80 feet. Focusing on 50-60 feet is resulting in the most consistent bite.

Bream and shellcracker fishing is also good, with bream biting mainly in 4-10 foot depths, especially around shallow cover. Crickets are the preferred bait. Shellcrackers are biting worms on the bottom in the 12 foot range.

With the crappie fishing currently rated as fair, along with the largemouth fishing, it is a good time to go after those stripers and panfish. The fall bite is right around the corner, which should turn the crappie and bass fishing red hot.
