  • Lake Wylie Fishing Report

Capt. Rodger Taylor of Catfish On Guide Service reports the catfishing is 'good to very good' on Lake Wylie. He suggests anglers troll early in the morning in the back of creeks, focusing on fish in the 5-10 foot range and trolling out of the creeks toward the deeper parts of the lake.

In the evenings, Taylor said anglers are having success drifting in deeper water--around 18-22 feet. Stay close to structure and the main creek channel to increase your chances.

Cut white perch and cut shad are both effective baits right now, and some flatheads are being caught on live bait. Taylor said night-fishing is a good tactic, and that some quality fish are being caught after dark.
