24' 835 Indian Creek choke Win. surpeme XX 3 1/2 #6 patterns the best. Can shot to 40-45 but rather not uless he stuck in strut zone, its turkey hunting. When this tom saw my bent neck hen with a struting jake decoy, he turned red and wobbled in. Was with 2 jakes. Hunting this tom 3 days and finally his hens left. After that was love story gone bad!

WELCOME to the site RJ and Thanks for sharing!!! Great Job on a GREAT Gobbler!!! I looked at Indian creek Chokes but I tell ya...My $20 Tight Wad has impressed me with supremes number 5s...My last tag Gobbler this season was 'Out there' and getting further away because my Partner had just shot his and I was trying to put a longbeard on 1 of the others LOL By the time I did, They had covered some ground and I have a scope on my Gun and after I shot and moved the magnification from my eyes, I was shocked at how far I hit him and my Partner was also LOL...Yours had Jakes as company? LOL We have had a wierd season for sure...Glad you stuck with it!!!!

    Thanks
Been turkey hunting 10 years and every year these old birds amaze me. Guess thats why we cant wait until spring comes. Maybe that old bird you are chassing will lose those hens. Try calling him on the roost and stop calling and be patience, if the hens leave him he will remember where that hen was (being you). Good luck to all.

The only thing that sucks is my time in the woods is limited so most of the time I cannot hunt very long...The positive is I know where He roost almost every night and I am going to set up right in the middle of the field where he has been flying too. I am planning on taking a different approach than normal. I will be laying in the bottom waiting for him. Hopefully He will follow his usual routine of the last couple weeks and give me a shot...the bird I am hunting has been around the block many times so you just never know what He might decide to do...That is why they are some fun to hunt....
